Hi Mummies,
Need your advice for P1 Chinese assessment book.
Daughter has some topical tests and will be tested on these areas:
看图用汉语拼音写话,连一连,连一立连(部件)

Thanks.

Hi Janet,

you might want to check out the following book:
EPH Primary Chinese Practice 4+1
Hi Snowcloud,
Thanks for your recommendation.
I have the title you mentioned. Now going through what has been done.
Checked with tutor and she advised me to revise hanyu pinyin using any 词语 instead of the assessment book as she is too reliant on the textbook. Her brain has 'captured and memorized' the pages and so she wants the textbook all the time.

Hi Janet,

yup, agree with your tutor that if you want to revise just the hanyu pinyin portion, but I would advise you to try using any chinese character but not 词语. In your child case, since she is so reliant on what she had learnt from textbook, then you might just want to consider testing her on just a single chinese character rather than a 词语. Sometimes, the student can only able to recognise for example "唱"but not "歌", if you put them together to test her, she can still give you the correct answer cos she heard of or learnt "chang ge". When you test her the 2 chinese character separately, she might not be able to give you the correct answer. Using this method, you can also test if she can recognise both character.

I am staying away from assessment book to revise hanyu pinyin...on top of having to increase her knowledge of 词语 vocab, I am also using characters not found in textbook to test her...no point being 'assessment book smart' but not knowing exactly what is going on. If she wants to have the textbook, I'll let her hold it, but try not to give her 词语 from the textbook. Hopefully she will not be so mentally reliant on it.

Bump into a friend while doing some grocery shopping and she just came out from Popular! (Whoa! Very Good - this time my legs didn't carry me in there   )

Saw her bought this book for her P1 girl and so I kapoh borrowed to have a look. Think it is a new publication by Marshall Cavendish - 2011 edition. Decided take a few pics and upload here to share with all P1 parents. :imcool:

Hi Champion,

I saw this one yesterday (last minute went to buy Synthesis book for today’s English paper). Thought it was for preschoolers. Haha…they really make these books very ‘attractive’ for primary school children to learn chinese.

Yea Lor, the picture so cute...I will get this later part of the year for my DD2 going P1 next year 😉 ....She is the \"eat potatoes\" type (speak more in English) so must let her get used to the P1 syllabus earlier  .....

Next year, I will be more stressed with DD1 in P4 and DD2 in P1 😓

Good news to all parents

Currently white sand brand has a promotion of 20% using U-Plus card for non price-controlled items (excluded magazines/newspapers)

Dun know whether it applied to all branch.

Happy buying.

cheers

Hi Mummies,

Have you ever bought CL assessment books by 姜晓红 and 吴立君 ?
I was looking for P1 assessment by 姜晓红 but don’t seem to see it anymore.

Hi

My DS1 (now in P6) is not very strong in Chinese Compre.
Want him to brush up the skill in this area during the coming June hol.
Any parents here has any recommendation on a preferred assessment book ?
Thanks in advance.
