Yeah, the exam format changed all of a sudden, given parents such a short notice. Show n Tell all along was not a component at all and they add it in last minute, leaving the kids with little time to learn the techniques. Just feel it's not very fair to the poor kids...

The scariest part about the Show and Tell is that the topic is given on the spot. I think that is really tough on the kids.

I won't mind if they are given the topic in advance to prepare.

Mummy definitely more stress than DD. She still doesn't anticipate what's coming her way. And I try not to make her fill pressured. haiz... SA1 40% leh... :roll:

Hi, sometimes until the school is absolutely sure, you'll never really know when the school will implement. Not talking about Rulang, but I remembered during the orientation of my DS1 in 2006 in another school, the school spoke about going single session in 2 years' and there were even letters about it along the way. 2011 now, still not single session.......

I think they will go single session in 2013. My elder son entered RL in 2009, and i remembered the principal mentioned that by 2013, they will go single session by then. FYI, this November, the school will undergo renovations to cater to single-session.

Should I go for Rulang or Shuqun for this year registration, under Phase 2B, and I’m staying 1-2km? I’m worried I might not get into balloting exercise if I chose Rulang, even I hv 2 tickets balloting. Any mummies here can advise?

Hi GSK,

It's really hard to say except that your risk will be higher in Rulang than Shuqun for sure. Last year, only those living more than 2km went on to ballot.

But, just wondering since the recent GE, the many blocks around the Rulang and market area were all changed from West Coast GRC to Jurong GRC. Does this change of boundary affect your recommendation letter for Phase 2B?

The school will not commit this info as they are also unsure. There is always a possibility of parents moving home or making stat declaration. So until the last day of registration the school did not commit this number; not last year at least.

Just to prepare you also, don't put any hopes in finding out any of such info during the 2-days of registration. Office will not disclose the current breakdrown situation as seen in some other schools. Uhmmm... and no boards that you can bio also...
