Dont think NCMP getting MP's Salary


Anyway i think outsourcing our MP positions to foreigners is a bad idea. Would you vote for a foreigner and leave the fate of our country's future, economic growth to someone else?

Unless they have the necessary credentials proven results etc maybe can consider.
There are quite a few factors to consider here

We already have some \"foreigners-turn-PR-turn-new citizens\" in the MP lineup... a matter of time before our future PM/President is one...

GY did alot for us too. He was also the one that gave us THE DURIAN which has now become an outstanding landmark.

Curious... is the idea for IR and Durian thingy part of GY's portfolio as foreign minister? Or something he \"value-adds\"?
Did his dept helped to attract good foreign investors? Or just FT/FWs?
Did his dept sign those agreement thingy to attract more FT/FWs?
Did his dept try to market SG talents to overseas instead?

I believe he was the Minister for Information and Arts when he proposed THE DURIAN. Strange.....that our Minister for Info and Arts usually like dome-shape thingy like durian or mushroom.

In that case the biggest failure is our education system... We are not producing the right calibre people to meet the demands of the real world, isn't it? And yet these poor kids do suffer severe stress in the education. Something is so wrong....suffer without results.

No...It is the parenting style that have given rise to these young adults, not the education system. Children are like bonsai, we need to mould and shape them when the branches are still fresh and tender. Try moulding an adult bonsai and the result is broken branches.

Our education system and parenting style produced young adults like TPL and NS... they each have their strengths and weaknesses... can't have best of both world...
Just wonder our own kids will grow up to be like which one?

i've come across so many fresh graduates who cannot find any jobs and resort to being full time tutors. Granted they can earn a decent amount every month.

I think this depends on the year in which they graduate. From memory, certain years like during 1987, 1998/1999 (Asia financial crisis), 2004 (SARS), 2009 (global financial crisis), the graduates have it harder.

Why look elsewhere when we can capable, passionate, and committed pple around ourselves?

Pple like LTK, CST, CSM, Syliva Lim, Nicole, Vincent and many more. All they need, is a chance to prove themselves.

I did a quick google for NCMP allowance, figures like $1600, $1800 and $2000 popped up. Much lower than MP's.
