i've come across so many fresh graduates who cannot find any jobs and resort to being full time tutors. Granted they can earn a decent amount every month.

I think this depends on the year in which they graduate. From memory, certain years like during 1987, 1998/1999 (Asia financial crisis), 2004 (SARS), 2009 (global financial crisis), the graduates have it harder.

      Ha Ha U R Right!
In those Years, Graduates Going for Job Interview is Like ....
      Another Class Gathering!

And the First One Who say Yes to the $Offerred, Will Be Offered the JOB!
And I Can Tell U, the $Offerred is Not Enough to Buy a Simple Gizmo we Get for Our Kids these Days ....

Dont think NCMP getting MP's Salary

Anyway i think outsourcing our MP positions to foreigners is a bad idea. Would you vote for a foreigner and leave the fate of our country's future, economic growth to someone else?

Unless they have the necessary credentials proven results etc maybe can consider.
There are quite a few factors to consider here
Why look elsewhere when we can capable, passionate, and committed pple around ourselves?

Pple like LTK, CST, CSM, Syliva Lim, Nicole, Vincent and many more. All they need, is a chance to prove themselves.

I did a quick google for NCMP allowance, figures like $1600, $1800 and $2000 popped up. Much lower than MP's.

Our education system and parenting style produced young adults like TPL and NS... they each have their strengths and weaknesses... can't have best of both world...

Just wonder our own kids will grow up to be like which one?
haha ... ermmm ... let me try ... my wish would be for them to have the X factor and fire of NS, and the ้ ๅฑฑof TPL ??

GY did alot for us too. He was also the one that gave us THE DURIAN which has now become an outstanding landmark.

Curious... is the idea for IR and Durian thingy part of GY's portfolio as foreign minister? Or something he \"value-adds\"?
Did his dept helped to attract good foreign investors? Or just FT/FWs?
Did his dept sign those agreement thingy to attract more FT/FWs?
Did his dept try to market SG talents to overseas instead?

I believe he was the Minister for Information and Arts when he proposed THE DURIAN. Strange.....that our Minister for Info and Arts usually like dome-shape thingy like durian or mushroom.[/quote]resemble the head mah ๐Ÿ˜‰

Eric Tan, said to be leader of WP East Coast team, announced that he is quitting WP as he felt betrayed.

WP is choosing a younger team member to be the NCMP instead of Eric Tan

                    :celebrate:

hopefully it is either Gerald or Glenda ๐Ÿ™

Can't blame Eric Tan of WP for feeling \"betrayed\". after all the hard work and being one of the most experienced members in the party, he is now bypassed for a NCMP post. Can imagine his utter disappointment...just like an older hard worker being bypassed for a promotion to a younger colleague who just joined the company.

                        true.

but it is self interest versus party interest versus national interest

if anyone places self interest ahead of national interest, then he or she doen't not deserved to be in the parliament.
