I watched the clip again on yahoo and saw that the staff was not feeding the baby but using cotton bud to clean the mouth.

But at the end of the clip, there was a note on the baby cubicle with the chinese characters 禁食. I watched it one more time to confirm and still look like 禁食

      Here's the link http://news.yahoo.com/video/world-15749633/chinese-conjoined-twins-in-hospital-25179373

If I see correctly, does it mean, they are going to starve the twins?

though i cant hear what they are talking (my speakers are not on), i dont think they wld be so mean as to starve the babies..this wld be consider attempting murder. more likely, maybe the babies cldnt feed, so they hv to provide alternatives. 禁食 might mean no feeding thru the mouth but by ways like thru a tube insert, like on drips. hopefull.... 🙏

I hope so. The report state that their health is the top pirority.

But just feel uneasy about the note. Any parents with medical knowledge to help out? Thanks

Since the parents r poor, I supposed the mother never go for regular check up, hence she didn’t know that she was having a baby with 2 heads. If she knew from the beginning I think she won’t be keeping the baby.

As poor farmers, they probably do not have access to prenatal care. Maybe not even have a midwife at the delivery unless something is wrong.

It’s very sad to see babies born in such a way. Seperation is impossible as they share a body. How is the doctor going to choose who to give the body/organs to?

This is a really unfortunate case. I’m sure no one wants this to happen.
& in China, people are not as open minded or open to special needs kids as in US. In US, we commonly see disabled people living normal lives, complete with spouse & kids. But in China, they will be shunned and ostracized.

Looking long term, the girls might have a lot of other complications when they grow up. I hope they won’t be exploited but treated with love and care, just like any child deserves.

They went for pre-natal scanning but the doctor didn't discover that there were two heads. the explanation given was that maybe the scanning only has the side view and they couldn't see both heads.

That is why I feel that the doctors should always be vigilant and intelligent and they should not make assumptions in their scanning and analysis. Every patient is different.

I'm :? over that explanation because from my pre-natal scan experience, I can't imagine what they meant by just doing a side view. Becos usually for the scan, the doc or person scanning would want to make sure can see 2 legs and arms and later the spine, so really :? about that explanantion

From one side view, it appeared that the foetus has one head only and it never occur to the doctor that there are two legs, two arms...one body but.......TWO HEADS.

Whatever the excuse....the doctor is just unprofessional and blur sotong.
