      Hello all the shifus,

When you use your Z machine to make a loaf of bread, does the bread turn out as dense and heavy? I used my Morphy Richards breadmaker to make a loaf of bread, followed the recipe given in the instructions manual but the bread turn out to be dense and heavy. Only the top piece feels like those we buy from the supermarket. Could any shifu advice me what was the problem? Should I reduce the water?

      Thank you.

        Hi, Lostbunny,

I think the problem of dense bread could be due to the quality of yeast you used. It must not be passed its expiry date and of cost quality counts too. I had this problem before till I switch to another more costly brand of yeast. Receipes given by breadmaking machines should be accurate and give you a good textured bread if you follow it closely.

LKVM, the choc cake is nice? Which recipe did you use? Z's recipe? I tried butter cake using the machine, but not nice leh.

Yes I used the z machine recipe for choco cake but this time I added more cocoa powder and sugar and it was quite nice.. also while it mixes in breadmachine I will be mixing also so that the content is mixed properly if during that time I feel the water is less i just add more

I see... No wonder mine didn't taste as nice. πŸ˜‰

            Hi CJS,
I used the Red Man instant dry yeast as it was the only one available at the shop n save next to my place. Wat is the brand of the yeast you use?

              Hi everyone,

My accidental success in baking Honey Buns . . . here's the pics :

              http://i55.tinypic.com/2s6voeh.jpg\"> http://i55.tinypic.com/2n152k0.jpg\"> http://i55.tinypic.com/erk50w.jpg\">

Soft and fluffy, not very sweet despite the name; pardon the ugly shapes, i didnt weigh the individual rolls and instead of 9, i got 10 πŸ˜“ so i squeezed it in anyhow ...

I used fleishmann yeast available in both NTUC and Cold Storage.
