Thanks for providing the update on the bad food situation.

All concerned parents should contact the school and insist on a reputable supplier of food with daily external checks to make sure no ones child or teacher will get sick again.

Really seems like the management cannot trusted to do the right thing.

Latest update on pats web site talks about "suspected" food poisoning.

This is not how NEA and MOH view the hundreds of cases and dozens of people in hospital caused by a confirmed example of of food poisoning.

Pats might salvage a small amount of credibility by admitting what is already confirmed by people who know their job.

          Popstar:
          Hi all Pat's Schoolhouse Parents,

My son has joined Pat's since 2008. He is in the Jubilee Center. I sat in with my son for a week, n tasted aunty's cooking. She was great! She even baked the cake for the national day celelbration. The teachers n programme were so great that we decided to let my girl joined early this year.

So when they 'centralised' the kitchen late last year, I was immediately aware of the change becoz my son complained abt the food on the 1st day of the change. Since then, I started to moniter and gave the school feedback. I observed that the quality of the food is not consistent, n that greens was not served everyday. But that seems to change after several feedback.

However my hubby n I still prefer 'homecook' food, so I email Pat Koh
herself directly. We met early this year. I told her abt my concern n
perference, while she told me abt their difficulties in managing the kitchen.
She felt that the school mgt team could better use the time to manage the school programme n children, than to moniter the kitchen. To me, she seem
rather firm abt 'centralising' the kitchen. But she did reassure me that
regular checks are done to moniter the 'centralised' kitchen. Now that the
food poisoning case, I can see how much is done to moniter the kitchen.

Hi, thanks for sharing. I agree the curriculum is goos. My son has been in jubilee since the beginning of the year. His teacher is Ms Sharon Loh and initially I was quite happy with the school as the teachers there are very friendly. However, recently I notice that my boy's teacher has been neglecting my boy. There was once I notice that she was busily using her phone when the children are playing at the playground. A child fell and she took no notice of it. I wonder how can my child's safety be under her care.
There were times she wears inappropriately when she was dealing with Chn in the morning.
This is really not the ideal psh teacher I tot so.
I hope the management and pat Koh can do something about it.

I understand her problems n points, but the well-being of my children should not be at the expense of adcademic programme. I am not pulling out my children yet for the lack of better choices. If anyone has chance upon any good choice, pls do let me know. Thank you.

What is the official web address of Pat’s schoolhouse and facebook ?

We should place the link here so that all parents can feedback/comment on the same platform.

Anybody has Patricia Koh’s email address?

Mum's cusine was a reputable caterer before all these happened and it is impossible to ensure that no kids or teachers will get food poisoning again cos' mild cases or isolated case will never be reported or noticed.

i strongly believe that all food should be cooked at school and not hours early. parents could always do a spot check if food are cooked in school to ensure that kitchen is clean, things are properly wash, dry and kept, food is fresh and cook is doing her work properly.

Happychildren's post below is very damaging. So is there a way to verify her status?

I am a concerned parent and the information in this post is alarming. I will of course not jump to any conclusion and accuse the school by reading just one post without verification. I don't think the teachers at PSH will allow themselves or the kids to continue eating the food if there are plastic pieces, fish bones or strings found in the food.

I am a teacher from Pats. I would like to state my opinion here after knowing what has happened to the innocent kids in Pats and other centres. The teachers in Pats has been eating the food from the same caterer 8 months ago. Initially, the food served was presentable and edible, but after a few months time, we found that the standard has dropped. The worst case that happened was when we found things in the food such as plastic, fish bones, strings, etc. The fish was not cleaned properly before they cooked it and tasted awful. The teachers in Pats has reported this to the management, however nothing was done. There was no improvement in the food. We are utterly disappointed with the caterer and the school. We believe that as a teacher, we deserve better treatment and same goes to the children who paid so much to the school. I personally feel that if an organisation want to be recognised and be one of the top school, something must be done! Please consider for the teachers and children. Stricter measures should be implemented in selection of caterer or just stick to in-house cooked food. If an organisation want to save money on hiring chef instead, then they should be aware that such incident will happen. The children are suffering, MUM'S KITCHEN must be accountable for. They must be dealt severely.

To explain myself further, the reason is simple. Quite a few of the teachers have their own kids in PSH. Their own kids would be eating the same food.

For inhouse cooking, i certainly hope that they will engage full time cook and really cook properly.

Heard that some cheaper childcare try to save cooking time by going the easy way out -microwave
Too much microwaved food is unhealthy and is potentially cancer causing esp when they are going to be exposed to such food daily at such age.

To \"empressplace\" - you are wise to verify the post of \"happychildren\" before making a judgement. I am a parent with 2 children at Pat's Schoolhouse and another child who has since graduated in 2008. For your information, the services of Mum's Kitchen has been terminated last week and in-house cooking as resumed. In fact, the children are getting homecooked healthier nutritious meals by the in-house cooks. Training of these cooks on food hygiene and nutrition are in the pipeline. I am still a happy mom.

To \"happychildren\" - as a teacher at Pat's schoolhouse, I do not think it is professional of YOU to give your opinion on this forum. You are creating unnecessary alarm amongst potential parents sending their child to Pat's schoolhouse or existing parents. As a teacher, you should be better informed that the services of Mum's kitchen has been terminated. If the management hasn't acted upon your feedback, you should continue to PUSH for an answer.
