I hv to also remind myself to be calm when I see her papers when they are returned. No :spank: but :hugs: as these kids are really hvg a hard life I must say, compared to our carefree and careLess childhood.
Haha, hope I don't go into an 'uncontrollable' mode when I see his papers later .. must stay
But most likely I would be revisiting on how we shd go abt planning her daily revision come term 3. Ummm dunno how to fit in more fun time in her already packed schedule of supp class in school, cca, ballet. :scratchhead: -

Uncle Trap Uncle Trap Uncle Trap Uncle Trap Uncle Trap.... :heresmyfish: Sounds like a mischievous child rite? Hee  Im a child at heart ...
 Uncle Trap is a term for your dd/ds, you must call Bro Trap like Sista Funx3, if not everyone think I very oldTrapwithin:
Hi Uncle Trap, well said well said! I hv exactly the same sentiments but its hard to put into action as sometimes emotions and exasperation gets the \"better\" out of me. Its like going on a swing, forward-backwards, on how to ensure kids are given breathing space and lots of fun and sufficient free time to play, vs doing sufficient assessments to ensure they are not lagging in their studies. School std is rather high as without doing assessmts and having some sort of assistance at home, in addition to their school work, kids may tend to be in the below avg league in school. On one hand, I'm fine if my kids are in avg class, but on the other hand, I'm happy and they are happy when they are in the top few classes. But at the end of the day, its not us, its our kids that matter the most. Doing well academically in school is indeed not everything, the learning process, enjoying school life, tastes of trivial disappointments/ setbacks and picking up on the way, and building good friendships are just some of the the precious intangibles that the kids will bring with them throughout their childhood into their adult years... ... Putting all emphasis on just studies is indeed not fair to them
So I also hv to constantly remind myself that I hv to give dem space to hv fun, and enough time to day dream, read and play. Thanks for your reminder Uncle Trap!
I understand how you feel. My dd went through quite an unhappy Term 1 this year. This is mainly due to the getting the engine to start after a long holiday and having a CNY in the middle of Term 1 didn't help her to maintain the momentum as well. She mentioned something to me casually one day that cause me to relook her life. She mentioned that she look forward to recess time everyday becasue she get to do what she want. After much thoughts and discussion with dw, I concluded that she needed some personal space. We started to give her a complete 1 hour \"do as you like\" time daily - half an hour in the morning and half an hour at night. Not that I am taskmaster, just that like many kids, my dd \"Space-out\" (Daydream) a lot and takes her time to do her stuff.
It helps not because she get this free time but physchologoically she was given the space she needed. She improves in your mood and things get back to normal again. So I concluded that she is probably burn-out.
So now I have a new slogan in life: \"Space out to prevent Burnout\" :imcool:
Ok dont :spank: me lah
Bro Trap, I hv to again agree with u \"Space out to prevent Burnout\"
Thanks for your sharings, uncle trap.
I think \"uncle trap\" has a better ring to it compared to \"bro trap\". :rotflmao: -

JRLam:
i hope the CL teachers can also provide written tips on how to tackle the OE questions after doing any comprehension worksheet or test.
Count me in!Jennifer:
I think I want to call the CL HOD and request him to organise a workshop for PH parents for this killer section.
Anyone else interested in this idea? More voices more chances of getting the workshop up.
My ds2 CL teacher did provide some tips to tackle difficult questions to her class before the recent CL exam, and I think it was very nice of her as I had never received such tips from other teachers before. -
Hello, my son in P6 this year. What do you think of the SA1 English paper? mine only scored 48/95. just passed!

IJJ:
Sama Sama .... all our kids worked very hard during exam.Oh bro Trap...you are such a tender dad!!
I totally agree, thanks for sharing and I will keep this wise advise in mind.
I have seen mine slogging morning till evening to do her self-revisions by her own, as long as she did her best, that is good enough for me. :snuggles:
Agree with you that as long as she did her best ... it is Well Done.
This daddy will love her as much regardless of the result :celebrate: -
Funx3:
errrrrrrrr ....
Flighty? Sounds the same as my dd. During examinations, she was looking out of the window watching the dark clouds gathering together. :faint:lizhi:

Don't think she's weak. she's just flighty. So the same type of question, today can do, tomorrow may not be able to do....Plus she anyhow check the paper. Tried to instill the concept of checking since last year but.....Haizzz
How U know ....
U Spying on her from a Pair of Binoculars outside -ah?

Me 3...Me 3!!!
This morning's posts went super fast. My helper is on home-leave. Guess my logging in to KSP will be less often.
Happy Mama...resourceful gal, resourceful mum! Continue to find out for the rest of the subjects, ya? Hehe...
Trapwithin, you rock!! As usual, nobody beats you to your excellent post-exam reflections. WTG.
Dd got back her papers, except EL pp1. Happy with her marks.
-
A lot of people said the P5 MA is very tough. Anyone knows where i can get a copy of the past year papers? those available in the market donβt have PH MA papers, seems like very hard to findβ¦

E3, how can your DD not be happy with her results when she's super duper good?
Anyways, thank goodness, my DD is also happy with her marks as she got a few WOW stickers pasted on her exam papers. CL was a let down and she did not do as well as CA1. Compre was the killer. Other than Compre, she got full marks for the rest of the section in Paper 2.
:stupid:
