Only the original will do, right? DO they need copy for all the document?
Saw in the website never mentioned about photocopies?
        Anyone, advice please. Thanks.
To make your registration process quicker and smoother, better to bring photocopies as well. Else need to wait for photocopies to be taken at time of registration (Speaking from past experience).

OMG! That doesn't sounds too good. But honestly speaking, in my son's first year (nursery) in PCF, his class is just 2 hours per day. Compared to a full-day childcare, I really think it is inadequate (ok, maybe I'm kiasu). Things got a little better when it became 4 hours a day (K1/K2) but still, I am still concerned that he is not learning enough. Any views on this?

Yes, it's not too good. AND it wasn't the child's fault really... 😞
It does not matter where you send your child to as long as
we; as parents, must monitor our children's work and abilities.
The other factor is to prepare early. It's normal for a Playgroup
or N1 to operate 2 hours. The children's attention span can just
manage that for starters. Not all childcares have adequate
curriculum to prepare for P1. Lessons in a childcare are dragged
within the day if child is full day, instead of a compressed 4 hours
of kindergarten session. The general academic hours are relatively
the same unless the childcare provides for enrichment programmes
within the centre. Some centres just have a lot of free play....
Parents also need to factor in the \"care\" time needed for the children's
shower, nap time, breakfast, tea break (etc) when children are placed
in a childcare. A childcare operates differently from a kindergarten and
definitely more busy with children's caregiving.

Mebbe you can elaborate what you mean when you think he's not
learning enough... ChiefKiasu has a complete write up of what a
child should know prior to entering P1. 😉

              Hi Parents,

              Hope the above information helps.....
              Hi Worry Mum,
              Thanks for the info.
I've checked the website, my girl's record also there even immunisation is not done at Polyclinic. Think it is required for the clinic to update the info to the immunisation registry.

but i'm still really wondering why the 2B for this year so low applications?? i think its the move for 2 years to teck whye. super inconvenient..... later on last day we all got 'heart attack' when the applications suddenly shoot up!

For me, this is a "long term investment", if my elder is able to get in DLS, then my little one also can get in via Phase 1. 2 years suffers exchange for 10 years good schooling, really worth to. BTW, u got how many kid?

Or maybe Parent getting risk adverse, they worry that if they are out via balloting and at that time, most likely YT and Unity are full already, then they have to go to others schools. Since Unity & YW also doing well, then as well just register with them and secure the seat.

i hv two kids…a boy & a girl… but my bb girl is younger than my son by 5 years…the reason i wanna put boy in dls is due to affiliation with sji…tho of coz there is no guranteed proof tat my child will do well enough to get into sji. it all depends on my child.

i understood dls used to be one of the 1st tier school in cck; but hearsay fm hdb tai-tais tat standard dropped… but i like this school coz its a really old school & old schools normally hv better values. hence, u r rite in saying unity & YT has now improved vastly in their stds plus being relatively new school, they really caught up fast. my nephew is fm unity & he’s also in top class & i can see he’s doing well in his studies. fm him, i gathered quite lotsa info abt unity - but if i see balloting chances for unity so measly, can forget it…chances so slim…and if kena supp 2c, :x

actually i’m also contemplating - if day 1&2 lots of applications for dls, i may drop the idea n check out YT. I hv 3 choices and all within 1km; hence i really gotta weigh my one chance well!!! i really don’t wish my child to end up in a school not of my choice.
