I can't speak for others but for me, I feel more stress as I feel I need to be there to prepare my dd or make sure that she's prepared properly by the school. I feel that the Math assessment has been TOO broken down. There is a review after each topic taught. 😓

Do you know what is the assessment composition of P3 SA1 Science ???

50 is main paper, 20 for the animal and the remaining 30???? I can't find it anywhere. Is it the classification they did during CA1?

Oops so my guess was right. Actually it's not \"No more exams\" but the assessment is now more spreadout iso focusing on SAs only. This is good for those who have consistent performance but indeed stress for parents never ending exams.... I am already finding the CA and SAs for upper primary stress. Can't imagine I am gg to have a P1, P4 and P5 next year :nailbite: 😓

Was about to have a career plans discussion with my boss. Probably I need to tell her that I want to stay in my current role for another 6 years????? until my youngest go to secondary and they will need me less :?

I thinks so...and my dd said she only get 70+ overall .. ...For the classification paper, I think there are only 2 qns. So one qn totally wrong means the kid will only get 15/30..

I'm very sure many have complained as they can easily compare to other schools on how the assessment is being carried out. MBS is overdoing it. Why is there a need for 2 EL written expression assessment? Group poem recitation imo is assessed very unfairly. There is this boy in my dd's group who can't stand still for nuts and doesn't want to follow the actions and hence the whole group's marks have been affected.

But... his total score only 80/100. His FT still can tell him that she thought he could get A1 iso A2. So I am wondering where did the 30 marks go to???? I know he didn't do well during CA1 as he gave really wierd answers as he think too much during the classification that he gave non-std answers like poisonous and non-poisonous when I think they are only asking for no. of leg or something much more straightfoward.

I realised that for science, alot of standard words that they should use. I am so worried about him as he tends to get too creative in his answers which is easily mark as wrong.

That's true... but I feel that for work like that, it depends on parent's art & craft skills rather than the kids. So I dunno why it's part of the science assessment...(not that I am complaining) He told me that his art teacher gave him full marks for the animal.

but I am worried that by using ‘learn more teach less’ method for sci…they will be lag behind…I think other schools’s p3 should have covered more by now…

emmm…frustrating…and wonder is it better in this way or not…
