          Way2GO:
          Some other observations:

1.\tIt’s notable dat Min Tharman now looks after d economic n social policies with his dual appointments in Finance n Manpower.

2.\tSMoS Iswaran, now promoted to 2nd Minister for MTI, was reported in d SME Times dd 12th May http://smetimes.tradeindia.com/smetimes/news/top-stories/2011/May/12/singapore-woos-indian-smes-eying-asia-pacific-markets3333245.html, just a few days after GE 2011, to woo Indian SMEs to SG. Min Iswaran is also a Minister in PMO, involves in d Population Secretariat. Anybody has a clear idea wat Population Secretariat does?

3.\tMin Shanmugam is now d FM, probably best choice for dis appointment fr d current crop of PAP prospects.

4.\tWould we be swarmed by a deluge of many things Indian in d next five years? It would be interesting to watch how things pan out.
Would d population mix be altered?

Please refrain from posting any racist remarks coz dis is not d intention of dis post. Thank you.

My national anthem is IMAGINE by John Lennon. 😉
These minority ministers' performance in the polls and the cabinet just goes to show that there's no need for GRCs. The minorities can and many did make it into parliament on their own merit. They do not need to get in by riding on someone's coat-tails just because they're minority. Only those with no substance need that, and they're not minority candidates (which is the reason for having GRCs).

I think they're over-stretching Tharman a little too much. Should have appointed Heng Swee Kiat as Second Minister for Finance to take some load off him. He used to have a Second Minister when he was just holding the Finance portfolio, but is now getting only 1 MOS at Finance, who's a newbie with all his new responsibilities.

I think Shanmugam's performance as a minister is not spectacular, compared to his performance as a litigator. Quite a waste to pull him out of private practice to the cabinet. Prof Ho could have done the job as well, if not better.

Many Singaporeans like to live simply, ignoring the fact that many things are not what they seem to be. It tends to make them happier not know too much. As long as there's food to eat and a nice home to live (有得吃,有得住). I guess you could say I am one of those. My prayers are always of little ambition - 出入平安. So, I must say I am very much surprised that I have contracted Post-Election Syndrome.

From FB, to political sites, to ST (if I can get hold of a free copy 😉 ), TV/ Cable news, youtube, magazines, political party websites, etc., there's a yearning to find out more. When there's no more news to read up, I'll dig up news in Chinese. When there's no local news, I'll dig up foreign perspectives. When I can't find anymore news, I'll read up on blogs, informative and analytical ones. It is as if it is the next most thought provoking and thought stimulating thing, admittedly more so than parenting issues (to me at least 😉 ).

There are times when I need to maintain self-control and rehab myself from all these, only to come back to it when I am back at my desk, in front of the computer. I wonder how long this syndrome will last. :imdrowning:
