Hello jtoh,
Hi jtoh,
Sorri, I din know that your children are already in secondary school.Did they go through via dsa? Personally I would think gep students stand a better chance than mainstream. Thus, not very hopeful using dsa as a means to go into a dream school.
cheers

So parents, how was your Open House experience today? Care to share?

It seems like a lot of schools have open house on the same day, about the same time. Last yr, it was also like that. In the end, we can’t go to some of the schools.
-
you are right!
what’s the point of conducting an open house once a yr annual event only, where parents can’t get to attend some of the other schools, because date and time clash, all take place in the morning ?
so unevenly distributed ! 28 may only 3 schools, the rest all cluttered together on same day, same time - 21 may. if they can:-
a) spread out NYGH and RGSS on separate morning, then no need to rush. i believe a lot of parents wish to attend both talk by P.
b) spread out St Nick, SCGS and MGS on separate morning. -
It’s been like that for years. Later on you may even find a clash in DSA test dates.
-
for open house, it is unfortunate that they will only do so after SA1 is done, so it has to be the second last Saturday, and could not be earlier
both students and teachers have lots of work to do leading up to SA1, so cannot blame the schools
for for DSA tests, they can afford to schedule the tests not to be on the same day same time !! -

If there is a clash of DSA test dates, don't they have alternate test dates for kid to choose, or they make the kid decide which to go for then? -
how was the open house at St Nick, and RGSS today ? anything interesting or unique about the school?
