Happydaddy, is yours a popular school?
-

Dear hquek,hi hot,
I was in the same predicament last year - to move house or not...
Currently my boy goes to my parents’ house after childcare.
They are staying 2km away from my house.
However, I don’t intend to consider b4 and
after school care at their house cos they are sick,
do not want to add on bundle to them.
Plus, no way my boy will do his schoolwork at
my parents’ house… not the discipline kind.
Meaning, waste of precious time doing nothing,
then go back home struggle on schoolwork till late.
This is what I can foresee if I leave him to my parents.
Ideally, I hope I can send my boy to school in the morning,
then go to student care after that, ie. Single session.
At student care, he can finish his schoolwork with teachers
to coach him, plus friends to socialise.
There aren’t any schools near my house have single session. -
hi hot,
Schools are working towards single session - I can’t recall when is the cutoff year but it will be happening (though probably not too soon for you). Understand the predicament. Anycase, there are BASC in the morning for those afternoon sessions. -

But on the map is within 1km because the condo is sitting on a big area. 75% of the land hit within 1 km So the school base on postal code?
if that is the case, only those blocks within 1km will be in. the distance criteria is based on location of each house/block, not based on the whole condo compound.verykiasu2010:
Hi expert, if my area is slightly out of 1km, 1.02km based on postal code, am I eligible for phase 2c? What is the tolerance? They based on postal code? On the map, my blk 50% is within 1km..
zero tolerance
if there is balloting required for within 1 km, then you are out without the need to ballot
everyone who does not qualify for earlier phases like siblings and alumni and connected persons will fall under category 2C
you can go to the school to check - they have a list of INDIVIDUAL addresses within and / outside the 1km/2km mark -

They do KNOW !! and they are legalistic about it too!
every block has a unique 6 digit postal code....no runny away -

Agree, I am just 70metres outside the 2km and simpy no leniency. The school said they received parents frustration but there's nothing can be done.happydaddy:
