I have a student from China who told me not to eat canned food from China, especially meat products. He said all the meat comes from sick or dead pigs, sometimes, they also use meat from other unidentified animals. He told me the richer Chinese also don't eat them.

the pork balls that are sold there contains dog, cat and other unidentified animals except pig. This was reported in the papers.

A hello kitty waterbottle made in Japan and one made in China are visually different, The quality is not the same.

What to do our market has more made in china than from other countries. Even if the food product is made in another country, we do not know if they use any of the ingredients from China

Japanese companies also make their food in China, eg Nissin

nowasdays when I buy foodstuff, I will always read the fine print that states the country it is made in. If it's China, I usually put off buying.

actually some of them do source for ingredients from China, under certain conditions, then the products are made in Japan.

very popular area is north east china’s 3 provinces like jilin and liaoning etc where the Jap actually lease the land for their farm but harvest the produce and process the food in Japan to minimise potential contamination, esp pharma products

they are aware of the potential ground water contamination in various parts of china

Yes, yes. Think it is meant for the Jap market. That's why I will only rest when I see the made in country. But then there's the issue of the country of origin for the raw ingredients. Usually now there will be statement that the product in made under the license of so and so under strict adherence to standard os something to that effect, but still I worry.............

even the toys fr china also very very different
products made from other countries are usually alot more expensive that's why very few people wants to import them in

Yes, a toy made in Europe or US, I can buy 3 - 4 toys made in China. But usually in departmental store very difficult find toys made from Europe/US, unless go to blogshops or small toy shop or amazon. I try to buy safe toys for my kids but I will always wonder, so will tell them to wash their hands before they eat.

Nowadays, many of the toys from Europe / US co. also made in China so what to do?

Ok call me paranoid, but even when it’s made in Europe and US and state meet this or that standard, I still worry a bit bit, because a standard could just means that at the amt, the chemical or whatever used is at a safe level. But still even at a safe level, I would not want my kids to put it in their mouth, you know what I mean?

Sigh…the world we live in today…
