SAHM_TAN:
after watching the 2 parts documentary Food Inc, I seriously wonder if there is ever a safe food for us to eat :oops:Ok call me paranoid, but even when it's made in Europe and US and state meet this or that standard, I still worry a bit bit, because a standard could just means that at the amt, the chemical or whatever used is at a safe level. But still even at a safe level, I would not want my kids to put it in their mouth, you know what I mean?
Sigh....the world we live in today........ -
pinky:
I saw milk powder with label that said \"milk from NZ, packed in Malaysia\"
Yes, yes. Think it is meant for the Jap market. That's why I will only rest when I see the made in country. But then there's the issue of the country of origin for the raw ingredients. Usually now there will be statement that the product in made under the license of so and so under strict adherence to standard os something to that effect, but still I worry.............SAHM_TAN:

seems like most of the food we buy here in Singapore are all exported -
meat from Msia, Aust or NZ, veggies from Msia, Japan or China, milk from Msia, NZ or Aust, etc...
(like cannot live without Msia) no offense here
think only eggs we have our own.... -
poppy15:
We have local veg too, both organic and aeroponic (think that's the spelling but not cheap). But the organic version is slightly cheaper when compared with other organic veg but variety is limited. We also have local mushroom, not the politicized version. :evil:seems like most of the food we buy here in Singapore are all exported -

eggs produced locally are not enough to meet the demands so we still need to import from Malaysiaseems like most of the food we buy here in Singapore are all exported -
