Im using the method below to find out the answer :-

3x-200=x+80
2x=280
x=140
L=3x=420cm
Can you explain why 80+200-->2 units?

Thanks
80+200 represents the total difference in length between the current length and breadth of the rectangle.
Since length = u + u + u and width = u, the difference in length is 2u.
So 2u = 80+200
:thankyou:
What does the dimension refer to ? The question was asking what are the dimension of the rectangler table?
Thanks!

Dimension refers to the length and width of the rectangular table in this case.

2) What number am I thinking of?
2/3 of this number is 100.
2/5 of this number is 60.
The number is _____.
1. using models,
smaller number = u
bigger number =3u
3u-u = 60
2u = 60
u = 30
Bigger number = 3u = 3*30 =90

2. 2/3 u = 100
u = 100*300/2 = 300/2 = 150
2/5u = 60
u = 60*5/2 = 300/2 = 150
Hence the number is 150.
