All About Full-Time Maids

Hi,

Was reading…seems like many of the maids will ask to go home almost soon after the loan is paid off. So was wondering…

I thot I saw a Chinese documentary about 9 months ago talking about difficulty in attracting maids to SG. (not sure as I wasn’t really paying attention back then). Seems like the agents were recruiting maids and some would dangle a reward ranging from RP 1-5 million to those who agree to come SG to work.
Not sure is this true…or I saw/heard wrongly or what…dunno how to verify too. If this is true, maybe that’s why the maids are running off the moment the loan is cleared cos’ they have already secured the reward…but then again, seems very stupid and short-sighted cos’ RM 5 million is only about S$700+? If they continue to complete contract, will earn much more won’t they?

Anyone can verify?

So she will need to be present to effect the WU transfer? Or can I do it on her behalf?? I'll try to pop into the SingPost outlets to check later during lunch.. thanks! Then again, its a big amount.. so sure kena high transfer fee!

Actually I don't think she'll need to be there, but I will bring her. Don't want to be responsible for writing wrongly...as you said, it's a big amount.

I think there is one day of the week Singpost is open late...is it today? not sure if I'm wrong.

That's why most will finish off the loan first.....once loan finish, the reward is secured immediately ie. dun have to even work further and still have money.

My CL has been feeding me intel abt my maid's chatter with my neighbour's maid. My maid confided to my CL in malay as they get to spend time together. Apparently, my neighbour's maid told my maid her job is very relaxing, not much work to do, got alot of freedom, can take handphone, got 3 bfs in Singapore and was showered with gifts by the family. That really demotivates my maid at the beginning and she begins to slip-up and in a daze. :stupid: Shall see what happens after my CL leaves... trying to stay positive that my maid is sensible to know what is good/bad advise for her.
