Everyone who participated in ds’s school got into the Final in June.


But I just found out we will be traveling on the final dates. Have not told ds yet. Think he will be disappointed.

same here. ds got into the finals and I have told me that we will be oversea during the period of time. He seems disappointed and now requesting to see if he can miss the trip while we travel. I have called up the airlines and know that I can't change my air tickets date. I will be calling up again to check, if I book for 4 person and 1 can't fly, will it be alright.

For ds school, only ds and one more of his friend got into the finals. I saw the email, only 48 got into the finals. So he knows it is a rare opportunity and doesn't hope to miss it. I am caught in a dilemma too. :frustrated:

Is it for you, definitely your ds is going to miss it? For my case, I am still trying to work out something. *sigh*

Is this the one that the top few of the finalists will get chance to go overseas for imso? Well if the kid has good chance, then Emmmm… It would be a waste lor …

I am not sure how his reaction will be. It is going to be a tough decision because the trip is to visit daddy who is working overseas.

I realised that he has to make very difficult decision recently.
Eg.
-Leadership camp vs Math Camp
-attending extra robotics class to prepare for competition vs joining the class outing to the movies (this was particularly difficult cos he wanted so much to go to the movies but couldn't cos they were not ready at all for Robotics)

I can't change / cancel the tickets too as they are restricted tickets. We will most likely miss the final.

Yes. Last year it was organize by RI and rgs. So the top 15 finalists after the second round will go through training lessons conducted in RI and rgs. This yr I am not sure which school is organizing it. At the end of the training, the top 15 of each section will need to take a test again. From the test, the top 6 plus 2 reserves of each sections will be further trained for imso. But the reserves will not get to go oversea unless any of the 6 main contestants cannot go at the last min.

So the Science Olympiad papers actually include Math as well? Wouldn't that overlap with the Math Olympiad organised by RI, HCI ? (scratch head)

This yr I am not too sure what it call la … Last yr it was called raffles maths and Sci olympaids which lead to imso … And the Sci and maths papers are 2 diff papers. They don’t add the marka of both papers. So maths section will have their finalists while Sci will have their finalist :.:
