Another case, my friend has just tried to enrol her son with LP (Simei) and was rejected. For her ds, during teacher meeting, his form tr said his English is ok but my friend wld like to see improvement in his son that why she gave a try with LP didnt know turn out to be disappointment.
Seem like LP only takes elite kids and gain their popularity. They are not there to help weak students. So what, they have 100% A* students! We wanted help but LP rejected us. -

Agree with you jojo. What they will say during the rejection conversation is, \"We are an enrichment centre, not a tuition centre. We only accept children with strong English foundation. Please send your child to tuition and come back for assessment 6 mths later.\"Another case, my friend has just tried to enrol her son with LP (Simei) and was rejected. Basically, LP do not have the heart/soul to help weaker or average students. They only take in very good students who can produce the A or A* and not to ruin their so call \"good image'. Really despise such educators whose intention is to earn more $$$ in the easier way. :slapshead:
So in a nutshell, for parents whose child really needs help to improve his/her English, LP is not for you. -
to clarify, the ctr that claimed 100% A* was Simei ctr for 2010 PSLE.

Tks jojo. Do you know how many children are in the "100% A*"?

no info on that

At first I also heard that Learning point only accepts good pupils. But I changed my mind when I spoke to a staff there who took the time to explain to me why the entrance test was necessary before my child took her placement test. It was because by the time a pupil reached a certain level at Learning Point, especially if the child begins the lessons in kindergarten with them, they would have been able to write quite well even before they reach P1. So their lessons across all levels are designed for pupils who already have a certain standard based on their own programme. I have seen for myself the work that was given and they were of a certain standard; even for P1. So I guess I do not want my child to struggle if she cannot keep up with the rest of the pupils. That’s why they need to consider carefully during the entrance test if the child is ready or not. I think this is a fair explanantion because I do not want my child to be demoralised and lose interest. My child enjoys the lessons and the teachers are so caring.
