Went to library and discovered Paul Geraghty’s books. We read "dinosaur in danger" and I would highly recommend that (have borrowed but not yet read his other works).

‘Dino is danger’ is about a young dino who lost her family after a volcanic eruption. Alone and unable to hunt, she was on the verge of starvation until she came across another group of dinos (who happened to be her family’s enemies). The story goes on to tell how she eventually won acceptance and joined this group.

Story is very well written with good phrases galore. Pictures are beautifully drawn and the story itself is about dinosaurs (which kids, esp boys, tend to like).

                    hi autumnbronze,

The books are fairly thin. I would recommend this to children 3 y/r onwards - in fact I think this is good for lower pri kids becos he uses good phrases to describe the scene and happenings. I’m actually trying to ask DS1 (7 y/o) to write out the good phrases so hopefully he’ll remember some of it.
