WHOEVER said Science is easy and just reading guide books is sufficient better be joking. It's definitely NOT, esp so in PEI HWA. I guess all the parents in PH know why. :censored:
Then again, Science is not easy in all schools and answers are not found in guide books. Application requires deep analytical skills.
Sorry, I cross over to \"kapoh\" here πŸ˜‰

FULL SUPPORT of what Janet has to say about SCIENCE! :hugs: :hi5: My DD1 is in P3 (but not from Pei Hwa  ) I have learnt and am still is learning many about Science preparation from Janet and other parents in this KiasuParents forum :salute: :grphug: :thankyou:

we were once watching spiders on animal planet, the father was telling the boy in chinese about the different 'zhi zhu', and how there are some in Australia that are as big as his palm.. thru out, my ds nodded his head and listened intently.. DH was quite satisfied with the conversation, so I asked ds to summarise... he said 'daddy said that there are many kinds of PIGS, some are as big as his hands' :faint:

Hubby told him, \"Science is very easy, read guidebooks can liao.\" Then hubby asked him to get the guidebook list from me. Just buy and read can liao.

for me, DH wants to teach, but I dun want him to.. his mentality is 'P1 only, of cos i know.'.. but he doesn't use the methods that the school is teaching, so worried that he will confuse the boy  and bcos he is so fierce, the boy just looks at him when the father explains.. the father finishes, thinking the child understood, but later ds will tell me he has no idea wat daddy was talking abt!!

Oh man. Your dh realli got communication problem with your ds hor.

Think next time while your dh is presenting to your ds, you must be beside him frantically scribbling the english subtitles on large white cardboards so that your ds can read the subtitles if he doesn't know what dad is saying.

if this happens to others, I also will :rotflmao: but it happens very often at my home.. 🀷 We have been implementing suggestions fr the CL teacher to communicate more often in Chinese.. so DH uses Chinese and I use English.. this is proof of how poor the standard of Chinese is at home loh.. I always remind dh to get ds to repeat or summarise... if not they don even know that they are talking about different things!! :siao:

I think some of us are staying at Toh Yi Drive. Congrats, you people are sitting on a goldmine cos the latest HDB EM transaction just hit three qtr million (low flr some more). When the MRT is up, I guess it'll be even more valuable.

Add the arbitrary $50K for renovation and we're looking at $800K for that unit. :yikes: One of a half years ago when I was looking around at Toh Yi, the asking price then was already $650-700K. So we're looking at an increase of $100K within 2 yrs.

If only my pay increment can match the rate of housing price increase. 😒
