Hi! My first post on this forum!

If there are more than excess seats in Phase 2C, any child who is registered (despite distance) will get in, right? Only if balloting is required, then they start prioritising <1km, 1-2km, > 2km. Am I getting it right?

      Thanks!
Yes. If demand less than supply, all who apply will be given a place.

          HI puliyadi,

You can check the past balloting..

          CHIJ TP http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/toa-payoh
          St Margaret's http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/central
          Canossa http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/geylang

you might want to use the school query at http://www.onemap.sg/index.html and see which schools are nearer to you as well..

Looking at the balloting, Canossa seems to be your best choice?

                Hi Keywa,

You might want to check your home address again from the school as many parents use the distance travelled to calculate the distance, not realising that can be calculated via the circumference:

                Quoted from MOE website:
Parents may check the home-school distance category from the Singapore Land Authority’s (SLA) OneMap SchoolQuery Service. Please refer to the following on how to use OneMap:

Go to the OneMap website. http://www.onemap.sg/index.html
                Select the SchoolQuery service.
Click on the “Find Schools near a building” option button.
Enter the residential address in the “Find Location” box and click “Go”.
Click on the desired building on the map. A list of schools which are within 1 km and between 1 km and 2 km from the selected building will be displayed.

For more information, you may wish to visit the SLA website or call the SLA helpdesk at 6848 5266 . Alternatively, you may check with the schools directly on the distance between your home and the schools after 17 June 2011.

looking at the past year results for Canossa, P2CSupp should be ok but then again, you never know what can happen for this year...so good to keep a few more schools as back up
