I'm not sure which are the good CCs, but I do know some of the more well known teachers. Most of them teach in the east, and the teachers in the east are usually very experienced teachers. Mrs Lim Soo Chern is one of them. I think she teaches at Kampong Chai Chee CC. Ms Veronica Shen is also quite good, she teaches at Henderson CC and Pasir Ris East CC.hi jtoh,
may i know ... which are the CCs that are very good and constantly turn out high scorers who even win full scholarships to RAD's UK summer ?
thanks, baby ! :imanangel: -

Hi,hi Susan,
you may call up SBA at tel:6337-9125, put your girl on waiting list. That's what i did. :dancing:
SBA has shifted to Waterloo street > 1 yr ago, no longer at that Fort Canning hill last time. Address is: 51, Waterloo street. You can take yellow circle line mrt to Bras Basah station. Alight, exit at 'exit D' - where the signboard says clearly exit to 'Waterloo street'. Once you come up to the street level, walk very short distance (hence, very convenient), can see Singapore Ballet Academy.
SBA is at level 4. But no lift. Need to exercise, walk slowly all the way up the stairs to the highest storey, level 4, SBA. Downstairs ground level got nice, food mini restaurant.
here is SBA website and contact address / tel:-

Thanks a lot for the good info. -

Just want to check out with parents whose dds are taking the RAD syllabus, is it really more recognized than CSTD?
Yes. -

Hi all, now that the exams are on, I was just wondering. Is it normal for all ballet students to take the exams every year? Dd isn't taking her Grade 1 exam this year although her teacher assures us that she's keeping up fine and can still move on to Grade 2 with her friends.
For kids who are also taking piano lessons, it's quite common to skip grades so they dont have to take the exams every year. I'm just wondering since the extra exam coaching classes and actual exams are quite expensive so why do most (dd is the only one in her class not taking the exam this yr) girls take the ballet exams yearly?? Unless dd decides she's really serious about ballet, I'm reluctant to pay for those extra coaching classes and exams every year. Any advice? How much of a disadvantage does my dd have if she skips grades?
You don't have to take exams every year. Same goes with Music Grading. You can call The Ballet and Music School to check for information, 63101068 or 67751068. -
Hi parents
My girl just got to know she has merit for her Primary ballet RAD exam. She looked quite disappointed she din has distinction. I told her is all alright, no need to feel so stress up… Take it easy as this was her first time took the exam. She just started to learn only 6 month ago. She said she was not upset at all, and will want to continue to take her grade 1 next year. Actually her teacher told me she dance very well in class, one of her best student. She is also shocked my girl din has distinction, while as one of the girl din really dance well in class has distinction.
Need some advise, should I let her continue to take the exam
Is merit consider good already?
If she want to take ballet for DSA in few years time, what is the min criteria? Let say most her grades are merit, can she still apply for DSA?
Appreciate your advise. Thank you! -
She’s just in primary. Don’t let her exam results affect her. There may be many reasons why she didn’t get the distinction people expected her to. It could be that she was really not good enough, or maybe she was nervous, or she just wasn’t in the mood that day, or maybe she was sore, or she didn’t have a good breakfast. Really, anything could have happen and it was only one exam.
