It’s 80% for 2009 posted to secondary school. 2008 and 2007 are 100%. I don’t know about the rest of the 20%+ students. I’m hoping some parents of NHP can enlighten us. I’m concerned too. NHP had been consistently keeping 100% since 2005 till 2008.

Hi zoolet,
You may have misinterpreted the stats. The 75% is refering to the 3 out of 4 kids under Foundation Programme. I believe the Foundation Programme is referring to the old EM3 band. Otherwise, 100% of the 290 kids successfully promoted to Sec 1.

sorry what is foundation programme?
-
Does that mean only 1 kid din make it to secondary sch?
-
yes, only 1 kid from Foundation Programme did not make it to Sec Sch in 2010.
Here's the url for more information on Subject Based banding.

This is done at P4. So if a student pass 3 or less subjects, he can chose to take all his subjects in foundation level. Otherwise, all kids will be taking the standard level for each subject.
Hence, i believe NHPS is still maintaining their level of std whereby 100% of the kids taking standard level subjects get promoted to sec sch successfully. -
My boy will be going to NHPS next yr. Just curious, is there any entrance test used to split the P1 kids into their respective classes?

My boy is in p2. There is no p1 banding Chinese test. Don worry. He enjoys going to school, I think the teachers are doing a good job.
