I have been to some where there are 2 fans in the classroom but the air does not seem to be moving at all. Once I step out to the corridor, it was definitely much cooler. And this was early in the morning, even before the morning sun. Maybe some engineers can take a look at what’s wrong with current height or location or whatever of the fans and do a quick win by changing them.


How about those fans that we see in the zoo that has mist coming out. Those are really cool.

I am all for the PE uniform on all days, or at least redesign the school uniforms. Most school uniforms have been around a long time and are made of very poor material which are hot and uncomfortable.

I suggest to change some uniform, especially the pinafore type. The girls have to wear 2 layers, so hot!

if the school insist on pinafores, then the inner blouse can be spared so at least it will be much cooler.

i think they should let kids have a quick shower aft pe. both for hygiene and let them feel more comfortable for the remaining lessons. good to cultivate such personal hygiene habits from young also.

I don’t understand y DS’ sch PE t-shirt has collar & they r supposed to button up all the way throughout the day.

He has sensitive skin, so kena rashes on the whole neck & the collar is yucky w sweat-stains after PE!
I think sch architects shld consider the sun & wind direction when designing sch & stop building them "well-shaped" like the tiles at the start of majong game.

Altho my sec sch was mainly non-aircon & old then, it was v windy & cooling as each block was on its own, linked by covered walk-ways on e hill-top w matured trees rustling outside the corridors. Wonder how it is these days?

Very simple - move school hours to evenings. The Singapore kids are mostly night owls anyway.

Classes start at 7pm, ends at 10.30pm. They can have afternoon classes of PEs and other non-core subjects like Art or excursions or community projects or even CCAs, but the core lessons of subjects or topics will be held from 7pm to 10.30pm.
The kids can still have their 9 to 10 hours of sleep in the form of afternoon naps before school begins.

Nah - keep it like that; most working parents also do a lot of OT. This way, they won't feel guilty.

Those parents who don't do OT finally have a chance to paktor without worrying about what their kids are doing in the evenings. :imcool:

Who knows? Maybe our baby population can have a boost because the kids are in school in the evenings! :evil:
