Dear all,


Am a newbie in this forum. My son is born in 2006 and now am in a dilemma... Dunno whether to choose from River Valley or Radin Mas. PV closed for River Valley but Radin Mas is still opened till end June.

Is it a must to do PV? Radin Mas is within 1km from my home. But River Valley is within 2km (very difficult to go in).

Pls advise. Thanks!

My boy is doing well at GESP.

I think it might be due to the location that made it not so popular compare to RMPS. And the estates there are rather old. Only a few block of new flats around there.

Am staying in Jalan Bukit Merah. The old estate. I actually called up the admin staff in RVPS. And she told me that i can still try to apply. She will let me know before the balloting whether my son got chance or not. But i think it is really risky. Coz from pass reports, balloting only done for within 1km.


Since Radin Mas is also not a bad choice, am thinking that i should just put him there.

Heard Zhangde also quite good.

Yes, schools use onemap.

My boy’s due to be in P1 next year and I’ve done PV for both RMPS and River Valley Pri Sch (RVPS). Both schools are about 2km from where I stay. RVPS was my initial 1st choice (direct buses). But this school has became quite popular in recent years, and if need balloting at phase 2b, quite hard to get in since I stay >2km from RV.

Just like to hear from parents which school will u choose (if u were in my shoes).

No matter what RVPS do not have any direct buses right at outside the school gate as compare with RMPS. RVPS located in the city area therefore consider to be popular among with foreigners. RMPS located in HDB estate so may have different level playing filed.

I would recommend RMPS to be a safer bet!

So what kind of voluntary services did you provide at RMPS?

I think it will be very stressful for kids in RVPS. Most parents should be quite well to do. This would also provide lotsa stress for both parents and child. That is why I am seriously not considering RVPS.

I helped prepare powerpoint slides, word documents for a teacher.
Yes, well-to-do parents/kids at RVPS is what will be expected. 1 of the kids told my PV friend to fan her (cos she’s hot) when they’re out at excursion, ridiculous.

Which school are you considering?
