So far, we have not seen any balloting for P2A. Hence, there is a 99% chance that he will get in successfuly in P2A. It doesn't matter which address is shown in whose NRIC if no balloting is required. The address is used to ascertain which distance category he falls under in the event of balloting. -
Hi fellow mommies, I am within 1km to HIPs and wld like to ask abt the ‘Active Community Leader’ criteria - can anyone refer me to it? Since Aljunied is under WP now, does it mean I have to volunteer with WP’s RC? For Parent Volunteers, does anyone know how many they take in each yr? What is the criteria for selection and roles offered typically? Many thanks!

Hi,
I am the father whose son is going into P1.
Although I live just next to Holy Innocent Primary, I am thinking of Punggol Primary as my first choice. Does anyone know much about Punggol Pri?
Maybe for me, HIPS is too cina, and not much activities, cos I observe them for two years, mostly academic.
However, why doesn’t HIPS publish their PSLE results , cos I asked around, and it seems no one really know.
I don’t want just the highest score, like all parents, we want the percentage of overall passing, and also each subject.
I did wrote in to the school, the admin manager say must wait for Vice Principal. -
Hi, may i know whether HIPS r compulsory to take higher chinese?? im just too worried that my kids cant b able to handle higher chinese. n i do find HIPS cina… another pri sch im considering is north vista as its single sessions which i find it more suitable for them but although its within 2km away fr my place, its still 1 train stop away. does HIPS have any open house??

Hi July,
You are thinking what I was thinking as well.
I don’t think its compulsory to take Higher Chinese, but I was afraid if my son dont make it to the Higher Chinese class, then he will be in the bottom half, and normally in SAP scholls, only if you make it to the best class do you get the best teachers.
Did you went to the north vista pri open house, I couldnt make it, but I was abit pissed when the school told me the open house cant bring my son along. To me, OPen house is for the children, it’s the children you should try to impress, not the parents.
I wrote to HIPS, no open house, I guess they have so many people wanting to get inside that they dont really care about impressing parents…lol
THey wont even tell me their PSLE results, for that I am quite suspicious, you are a SAP school, and you not willing to tell public your results implies something.
Dont get me wrong, I am not trying to discourage parents here to register for HIPS so my son can get a place. I just feel that it’s good to share.
My wife and I will definitely not let my son go to HIPS, so good luck balloting.
I dont want my son to be too CINA…lol… -
i do heard that HIPS r more focus on chinese educations. not that i hate chinese personally, its just that i much rather they focus more on mathematics, english as it'll b more useful. n a neighbor complained to me that her son cant go to toilet anytime he want. i was liked \"what? wat if its really urgent?\" n i did went to their school b4 early this yr when they were having some seminars, nt impress by it. the building n classrooms look way too old. i dun wish to apply for a school just because its near my house. i just dun want my kids to b stressed up esp they're going to b in there for 6 yrs.
when did north vista had their open house?? i missed it
i read in the NVPS thread that theres complain bout their principal. but im interested in their new teaching methods. its a relatively new school so no past psle records. this yr will b their 1st psle but by the time they announce the results, a bit too late cos we're suppose to register P1 next mth. still in a dilemma. -
wow… This thread is all about Holy Innocents Primary
Anyone going for PLMGS?
