Do you have priority in registration? In the past, of all the so-called 'popular' schs, it was still relatively easy to enrol into either PH & RGPS. Just make sure you're staying within 1km of sch.

Then came last yr's debacle. I think for the first time in many yrs, there was balloting within 1km for P2C for both schs. Some of my friends were caught out, having shifted house but got balloted out in the end.

The only consolidation is that the nearby BTPS is a very good sch too (think all subj above nat. ave for PSLE 2010). So backup plan is still better - at least academically - then some of the neigbhourhood schs.

My Eldest boy got to go for Balloting in Phase 2c (within 1km) .... years ago ....
My dh go .... Say he does not want to participate in such event again ....

Coz ....
That year Pei Hwa got vacancy for 360 students ....

And ....
My Boy's Ballot is for ....

We paid deposit end 1998. Got keys in 1999 as back then, the whole HDB appt system took half a yr. The valuation for my place is only ard 290k. We also managed to get 50k govt grant as the block is within 2km of fil's place in Bukit Batok.

I got my keys in July 1998. Also got 50K grant as my parents stay 1.5km away...received my keys after 3-4 months.

Those it is my 1st HDB, I did not get the 50K because technically I \"downgraded\"

I think it's harder to be a SAHM then a FTWM. I remembered I took 3 mths break from work to take care of my ds after dw utilized her maternity leave. There were just so many tasks to complete daily and before you know it, it's end of the day. During that 3 mths, I shed 7 kgs. No need Philip Wain.

At work, at least I'm in control of my time. At home, I'm so totally not in control. When I can take my lunch (even that is a qn mark) depends on when ds decides to play nice or to vomit out the milk. So stressful, those time were.

I was quite proud of myself, when I was able to feed, cook, change, bath my dd when she was a baby. But to take a break for 3 months to look after a child is no joke.

er.... , i am just wondering what are the \"norm\" scores for PHPP, and what type of schools. realistically, this group of super active parents fr PHPP hoping their child to arrive at? I salute the effort they put in to monitor the child and as mention, it scares me....

Just to answer your qn - my fren said the PHSS student are quite lay back (er... i think he means they are passive learner..) . No offence, pls.

If you are selecting primary school for your kids, you should look at the general cohort as a guide rather than a specific target group. 6 years is a long time and can shaped the child ability Every school produced high and low performing kids. The important question is whether PHPPS as a school takes care of the whole school cohort well. Though not a \"perfect school\", I think the school do have a \"heart\" for all student.

I believe PH is just like any other schs- mixture of teachers and pupils. Hence no norm scores nor sec schs.

This thread is super long in comparison to other schs' threads simply becos we talk abt non-sch topics too. No need to feel \"scared\".

There is no correlation between length of the threads and the effort or stress we put in to our children. Don't be scared. :lol:
