Do you have priority in registration? In the past, of all the so-called 'popular' schs, it was still relatively easy to enrol into either PH & RGPS. Just make sure you're staying within 1km of sch.

Then came last yr's debacle. I think for the first time in many yrs, there was balloting within 1km for P2C for both schs. Some of my friends were caught out, having shifted house but got balloted out in the end.

The only consolidation is that the nearby BTPS is a very good sch too (think all subj above nat. ave for PSLE 2010). So backup plan is still better - at least academically - then some of the neigbhourhood schs.

My Eldest boy got to go for Balloting in Phase 2c (within 1km) .... years ago ....
My dh go .... Say he does not want to participate in such event again ....

        Coz ....
That year Pei Hwa got vacancy for 360 students ....

        And ....
My Boy's Ballot is for ....
        No #360!
        😓 😓 :nailbite: :nailbite:

I think last year was 330 students only

            SCSS:

er.... , i am just wondering what are the \"norm\" scores for PHPP, and what type of schools. realistically, this group of super active parents fr PHPP hoping their child to arrive at? I salute the effort they put in to monitor the child and as mention, it scares me....

Just to answer your qn - my fren said the PHSS student are quite lay back (er... i think he means they are passive learner..) . No offence, pls.

I believe PH is just like any other schs- mixture of teachers and pupils. Hence no norm scores nor sec schs.

This thread is super long in comparison to other schs' threads simply becos we talk abt non-sch topics too. No need to feel \"scared\".

There is no correlation between length of the threads and the effort or stress we put in to our children. Don't be scared.

                    Scary:

If my boy can get into PH, think the teachers will have a headache. He is very talkative till I want to scotch-tape his mouth. He has been asking a lot of questions in his pre-school and he is definitely not the \"normal\" PH student.

I think a kid will only ask a lot if he/she is keen and the teacher can arouse their interest in a topic. Isn't this the same for an adult?

My priority is I am within 1km of school. Should at least get a chance to ballot in 2C right?
My husband is the church member but it is not easy to get the church letter as the requirements are pretty stringent. Sigh. . .
Yes, my backup is BTPS, but kind of inconvenient. Don't know if the kid should walk, take school bus or public transport. So near yet so inconvenient.

                    Jennifer/Funx3,
Haha. . .I need to use masking tape soon. My son talks more than he does his work. He is also very slow in his work and loves to ask this,\"Mummy, is my handwriting nice?\" *Peng San* Thus, a simple comprehension can take an hour or more to finish.
Same during meal time. Need to do the \"zip the mouth\" action.

I think phase 2B/2C within 1 km is quite safe to get into PH? No?

All the best in your registration! Wish you will be part of this PH forum soon! 😄

Well if not, all is not lost, place your ds' name in the waitlist, you will never know. Mine was with BTPS from P1 and mid of P2, she was transfered to PH. She (this year P4) has been happy in PH since.

Here are the last 3 problem sums in this year’s P5 MA P2 -

                        1. 975 boys and girls attended the school’s sports day. After 5/7 of the boys and 3/4 of the girls left, there were 150 more boys than girls who remained. How many girls attended the sports day at first?

                        2. Annika saved a total of 228 pieces of 10-cent coins, 20-cent coins and 50-cent coins.

She added more coins to her collection until the number of 10-cent coins tripled, removed 1/2 of the number of 20-cent coins and took out 18 pieces of 50-cent coins.

The ratio of the number of 10-cent coins to 20-cent coins to 50-cent coins is now 3:6:2

Find the total value of all the coins Annika has now

                        3. A group of people attended a party. Each of them shook hands with everyone else once only. Mary shook with 5 times as many girls as boy. John shook hands with 6 times as many girls as boys.

                        a) How many people attended the party?

                        b) Were there more boys or girls? How many more?

                        Have fun!
