Thanks Always21 for this piece of comforting news!

Is your boy attending the after school care? I’m just trying to find out more information on them.
Hi parents of NHPS children, I am planning to send my boy to this school next yr but I am very concerned about the quality of the teachers, and management, after the change of P. Can anyone advise me pls?

I also heard from a friend who's girl is there that NHPS is one of the primary schools that don't have exams in P1 and P2, so there's no way they could assess their child's progress and knowledge. I also observe some admin staff (I know they don't contribute directly to education but their attitude does affect the students) are unhelpful and curt to students who come into the office. Plus, anyone has up close correspondence with the VP or P or any of the teachers and any good feedback to share?

I am very concerned cos we put in a lot of effort to try to send him to this school but lately seemed to observe negative things. Thanks so much...
Hi,

My gal is in P1 this year. At first I also thou that there is no exam, no grading, and as such I was very lax in checking thru her work. Then b4 school term ends, she suddenly brought back her Report Book, and in there, it shows all her scores. It was graded from their daily assessment and term test. We were even given the whole class and school average result for all 3 subjects. When I checked with my friends' children in other schools, it seems like none has a Report Book in P1. Now I m stressed by her results, cos there's a subject that she scored below 90%.

Well....I am not sure if it is actually good to have such reports...cos my gal was actually enjoying her school. Now I am putting in more pressure on her to do homework daily, and she seems to be hating it.

              Hi Rio,

Did her teacher raise any concern in terms of ur DD’s grade? If not, i guess no need to be so stressed now? Below 90%, so it’s 80%+? Is it really way below the class avg?

I guess a lot of parents prefer to have such reports. A lot are worried if there’s no exam til P3, then won’t it be too late to know our kids’ std.

I guess all kids hate to be nagged by us to do their hmwork. Next yr my nitemare starts!

Don worry.it is just a guide so the teacher knows where his standard is.

My DD got 89% for higher Chinese. Teacher only consider her average in her class n standard. Teacher says if dun work harder, might drop further. Ask me if financially ok n if time permit, encourage her to go for extra lessons. Faint…She already taking lessons in English, maths, swimming, dancing, really dunno where to slot the time for one more enrichment. Somemore the Chinese school that the teacher recommends is not near our place, really thinking hard what I should do next

Language is very different from math. I guess the teacher is worried as next term what they are learning is getting more difficult. It needs good foundation.

I don know where the teacher recommend but I sent my child to jiang education at bugis. It is a 3 hour class. I think the school helped him a lot. He started out from only can speaks and now he can read and write.
