PUB explains flash floods

think the bt timah and orchard rd canal prob hit a bottleneck and expansion may be a problem. they prob need alot more time to re-engineer the drainage system there. so the alert system was put in place to mitigate the damages while they search for a solution.

The entrance to MRT stations is always raised with a large margin of safety to prevent any chance of water going in.. unless the flood is like.. > 1m from ground level around the entrance.

Somemore, there are heavy duty pumps on standby in the event that water \"really\" gets in..

By any imagination, it is unlikely that MRT stations will flood.
