Err... hardest 1 or 2 questions only means the rest of the questions are less hard. It doesn't mean they are easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy as my daughter will say.

      oh yes......if u look at 2009 PSLE Maths paper......(my gal's yr)
even the front part, some of the 2 or 3 marks questions, also must think hard.....no easy-peasy πŸ˜‰

ok now I am 😒 don't think I can go to sleep now...[/quote]no.....u better get good sleep now before the PSLE battle.... πŸ˜‰

        ksi:

Oh only 4? Then they only have room to put it as Q17 and Q18.

I thought perhaps one may appear in Section B as well. Whatever it is, let them be the last questions in the Section in order not to dampen the children's spirit in pressing on. :xedfingers:

        Hi ksi

Not likey this will appear in Section B as the Q26 - Q30 are 2 marks each.

So far the few sets of top school papers that dd completd did not have these so called very tough question lah. Hopefully this PSLE also don't have too. πŸ™

        Dear Brenda,

We πŸ™ for your dd too... Hopefully Mr Heng hear us. πŸ˜‰

Looking thru my son’s P5 maths SA1 paper, there is really a huge disparity between textbook material n what comes out in exams. Even the kid knows the school textbook n workbook well, may still not pass the exam. I really don’t remember Maths being so tough during my time when I was a kid. Really have to sympathize with the children.

That's why we spend almost 50% of time in practicing maths and left little time for the other 3 subjects.

Heard about 2007, 2009 MA was tough. So 2011 as well ? In my son’s MA class, the MA teacher alerts the whole class as a head-start in the very 1st day of school.

We also heard that too. That's why we sign up almost 20 hours maths problem solving skills course for the next one week.

My elder boy sat for the 2009 PSLE. By the time he reached the last prob sum, he was already mentally exhausted. Claimed he stared at the last qn for 20 mins, just could not think of how to solve.

To be able to solve those few challenging prob sum also must hv strong stamina to sit through the entire paper.
