      Adam Ma:

since my son is not really performing good according to all his teachers now, should it be better for him to get in a moderate school which is closer to our house so he can have more time to rest and study?

You know your son best. What is his limit? What are his strengths?

Academic result is not everything. You have to evaluate which type of environment is he more suited for.

Can second language be omitted from the Primary section itself. Our mother tongue is neither Tamil nor malay or chinese. So whats the best option… Can they learn Hindi? Is there any school with second language Hindi?

Second language is compulsory. I'm not sure if Hindi is offered but I don't think so. In such cases the parents sometimes apply to have their kids study Chinese or Malay as second lang.

I think if there are quite a few hindi pupils in the same level in that school, sometimes, they can have hindi lessons provided the parents source for a teacher and with the school’s approval, to teach in the school. Best to ask the school what are your options.

                mmukherjee,

Best primary school is Tampines is St. Hilda. If you are a non-Singaporean or PR, then your chance to get into the school is almost zero.

Yes, some schools offer Hindi as 2nd language for their Indian students. If your children go to a school that doesn’t offer this language, they can do it externally at a MOE approved Hindi Centre on Sat.

Hi, anyone know Gan Eng Seng primary School?

Is it good? I would like to register my girl there.
Or is there any good School in Queenstown?

New town Primary School better of Gan Eng Seng?
                    :thankyou:

Gan Eng Seng had performed well in PSLE 2009 with a score of 275. New Town was merged with Ghim Moh & the school start in 2010. These are very old primary schools had run for few decades. Maybe due to low population of children, Gan Eng Seng, Queenstown & New Town does not require any balloting in Phase 2C situation.

If looking at good school in Queenstown, then would rank FMPS as the No.1 choice.
