for some it may be due to allergies. i was very surprised when i first heard of this at an allergy forum, but it turned out to be true for my son. he was quite young, so i was not overly concerned about bed wetting, but when i put him on a restricted diet for other reasons, i was surprised that his bed wetting stopped completely within a couple of days. i do not think it is a direct effect, but perhaps more about allergies interfering with the body systems in general.

The info that allergies affect bed-wetting is something that I can look into for my son. He still bed-wet. He stop for awhile but recently bed-wet again. He has some nose allergy stuff…hmm…The bed-wetting return at the same time. My wife n I avoid scolding n making light of his bed-wetting seeing how making fun or shame-based "teaching" have rob the self-esteem of some children in this.

It’s strange isn’t it? I don’t understand it, but the pattern can be quite clear to observe once you are aware of the possible connection. You’re right, the children themselves get very distressed over it once they reach a certain age so shaming them certainly will not help in any way.

my 6yo still dosent dare to try sleeping at night w/o the diapers… she is ok without it in her afternoon naps though

Accrdg to some of my doctor friends Bedwetting usually goes away on its own and its part of being a kids… accrdg to them kids who wet the bed often have a relative who did too when they were young, it tends to run in families . all you can do about this Is When your child wakes with wet sheet dont show any negative reactions like yelling at him or spanking him. Punishing your child for wetting the bed will not solve the problem. You can ask your child to help you change the bed sheets when he or she wets ,It may even help your child feel better knowing that he or she helped out., It’s important for your child to know that bed-wetting isn’t his or her "fault so she/he will not feel guilty and felt embarrass , try to tell him/her about other family members who experience the same situation , It really makes your child feel better. Mummies this are part of growing up, Our kids needs our emotional support and comforT. Offer praise when your child has a dry night. cover your child’s mattress with a plastic cover to make cleanup easier . and my suggestion try to visit doctors to enlighten you thats nothing to worry about t’s not going to last forever, its seems there are some kids has a fast bed wetting recovery. cheerup mum.

DD1 is still on diaper for night time. She does wet the bed once in a while during her nap time though.

She tries to empty her bladder as late as 10pm while we tried various method incl limiting water intake. It is still not working well on her. I am not sure if her situation is associated to any allergy (she suffers from ecezma),

Currently, we tried to wear the diaper over her undies as I suspect that the diaper may have dis-sensitize her wetting feel? Or she is simply a deep-sleeper? This trial was to train her to feel the wetness and be aware of it. In time to come, her body may be able to acknowledge the needs… …still trying…

i feel is whether they are ready or not. If your gal can wakes up with a dry diaper in the morning for a while, i guess she may be ready.
