Ooh I love marble cheese cake... May I know why there's an additional word \"cotton\" there? As soft as cotton huh? πŸ˜‰

Yah soft and fluffy like cotton. Cos this is not the NY style cheesecake but the Jap style cheesecake.

      Yup...

Ang Ku Kueh, or green in this instance and without the Ku pattern cos I do not have the mould.

I think cakes are easier to make then kuehs. Well at least the basic cakes without all the frills of cream and such.
Wow, pandan flavoured ang ku kueh... Funz, you are really good in the kitchen... I mean, cooking, kueh kueh, cakes and cookies... :salute:

Paiseh. Still learning. I have always liked meddling around in the kitchen. But for years after the birth of my 2 kiddos, I've not done much cooking or baking. It's this forum n this particular thread that rekindled my interest.

And after the recent demise of the last matriarch in my family, who used to supply us with wonderful traditional kuehs, I feel a need to learn making more traditional kuehs. Food is after all an integral part of our culture.

Somehow I find red intimidating, maybe it is such a strong colour it makes me feel as if I am putting in an entire bottle of colouring when in actual fact, it's just a drop or two. But leaving it white also not that appetizing and since I have a proliferation of pandan leaves in my garden, I decided to put them to some good use.

Took the day off today to spend some time with the kids. They tire of my company once their objective of going rock climbing was met. Left with some free time, I made a black batch today from the left over ingredients from the green batch.

Is this the salty one? How did you get from the green to this colour? I tried growing my own pandan leaves but not successful, though I heard it's really easy to grow pandan leaves... Maybe my soil is not fertile enough. πŸ˜‰

Nah still sweet. From green to black? Added black sesame instead of pandan. πŸ˜‰

Yup pandans are easy to grow. But as with any herb, you need enough sun and a bit of fertilizer once in a while won't hurt.

I see... Will try to grow them again... Thanks for the tip.
