Thanks, Merlion.1. Pizza or hot dog or fried rice or fried mee or chicken rice etc. Not very healthy food overall.

Hi all,
My son will be going to MSH next year too. So happy to know that we have parents support group for MSH.
We stay >2km from MSH. So, I am quite worried if my son is able to adjust to the early timing (school bus pick up is at 6 am).
Anyone facing the same problem? -

I end up sending my son to school myself as the school bus comes too early. The school bus actually reaches school by 6.45 am though school officially starts at 7.10 am (morning reading). Students are only booked late by prefects if they arrive late for flag raising (7.30am).

I did ask bus driver before why they have to arrive so early but did not get any satisfactory answer. I guess it is so that they can leave to transport office workers. -
Dear All,
Great to gather so many infor about MSHS. I am going to register my boy this coming fri, hope he can get in as we live within 1km from MSHS.
Any suggestions on how to prepare for pri 1 so that my boy and myself will not get many shocks??? :? -
It’s a good idea to start him off doing some assessment books…I started my boy on P1 assessments 6 months before…it proved beneficial as it improved his reading skills…Simple addition and subtraction…
Start encouraging him to converse in Mandarin…very important…cos mostly the form teachers are their Mother Tongue teachers…
I adopt a teach ahead method…I start on a subject before the teacher so that when they’re in class, they are not totally clueless… -
thanks for the tip... now if I speak to him in Mandarin, he tells me.. \"huh ? I cannot hear u\"... :!: gets me all worked up !!! :x
Great ! once the 2C reg is over.. we will now how many of us here have P1 going in next year and can also consult the experienced parents on the group .... this is fantastic.... looking forward to knowing everyone  -
Hi to all the mummies here. I am so excited to find a support group here for parents of sons going to MSH. Can’t believe that my baby is going to big school soon - letting go is hard huh, especially for a SAHM who has been with him for 24/7.
If I sound like he is my only child, he’s not. He’s got a jie jie in P3 who’s studying at CHIJ (TP). It’s just that I am a mum who’s very passionate about her kids, especially this baby face affectionate son of ours.
I look forward to interacting with mummies here. -

I tried to look at P1 assessment books too but the level of difficulty varies greatly among the P1 books. Starting to get worried.
May I check for P1, are the students required to know multiplication and division?? -

You don't have to cater for the whole year. Can try it out for 1 term. That's what I did for my son when he was in P1 cos he is a fussy eater. My son is in P3 now.
