talk to your violin teacher. if he thinks your son has a talent then perservere, if the teacher thinks CMI, then quit lah.

        😉

The teacher said he is doing ok, just lack of practice, that’s all he said. Though he has been learning violin for few mths now, when I asked the teacher whether he can sit for exam, he said can try next round, which is in feb next yr. So, I dunno if he is considered having talent for music?? But all I’m asking for is that whatever he does, try his best, not give me some kind of slobbish work, dun tell me that you practise one piece of music then tell me that you have already practiced lah…

It’s his attitude that irk me a lot.

I just spoke to SJI admin, they said will be 1 session next year.

I'm hoping to register my son in SJI for P1 next year and would like to seek advice from parents who had to ballot in phase 2B or 2C last year or previous years. Were you able to get information from the school on how many applicants there were before registration closed for either of the phases ?

I qualify for phase 2B but live >2km so definitely will have to ballot. Was hoping that the school will be able to provide info on the number of applications submitted by the 2nd day of registration so that I can assess the balloting chances before giving up a confirmed space in another school under phase 2A2. The SJI admin person I spoke to said they don't give out such info which is really not helpful.

Other schools I spoke to said they will provide the info as they understand that it is important for the parents to know so that they can make an informed decision on the chances of getting a place in the school.

Any SJI parents with similar experience to share ? Many thanks 🙂

Yes, SJIJ will be single session next year but it will be at its holding school in Kallang Bahru (former VS school).
