I have this bk got it from september 21 sale $5 but I am happy when I saw this book at popular. It is $9.
I planned not to go but … end up with brocken rules… -
Yes, that’s the one.
My dd only did a couple of pages. That’s the whole purpose, can take her own sweet time to do. Won’t reach book’s expiry date so soon and need to buy new one every year. -
I have that Learners grammar but I am not a fan of EPH english books…

Hi sleepy,
Initially I bought p1 & p2 grammar assessment books for dd, then I realised actually not much difference, so I skip all the way to p6 grammar. She is using Practice makes Perfect by EPH. Purple book coverChampion:
Sleepy,
can share with us what are the grammar books you are using? I am still :frustrated: that DD1 P3 is on the stellar programme with no textbook so at times dare not buy too many EL assessment books.
Isn't P6 too difficult for lower/mid-primary to attempt ?
Bought that \"Practice makes Perfect'' Grammar/Vocab from P1 to P6, except P4. Remember that 4 for $10 promo ? Will get my daughter to do those sections she is weak in...$2.50 for one book, not so heartache if cannot finish. -

Are you able to answer to the queries to those questions that your child got wrong (especially grammar)? I find it tedious because most of the time I made the same mistakes as my child. -

For Grammar, I I think it's still alright. Really not much difference between levels. She will read the examples before attempting.Hi sleepy,

For Vocab, I didn't skip that drastically. I bought P4 for her. She needs to refer to dictionary frequently, learn new words
For Synthesis, I bought P5. Again, not much difference between levels
For Compre, I don't usually skip. Sometimes I let her try P4, already too challenging so really need to stick to her P3 level
But she hasn't finished a single book so far. Not even reach one quarter, mostly 10% done only. Really taking her own sweet time. She's not that into assessment books, prefers to spend her time reading. I don't rush her since already extended 'expiry' date of those assessment books -

She will read the examples before attempting. So far so good le, hardly ask me any questions. If occasionally still confused, I have an old grammar guide book (yellowish & out of print) and I will direct her to the relevant section to read up. I can't explain to her since I'm confused too. I think my grammar is worst than her. Luckily my vocab is better than her. So we sort of make up for each other's weakness.

However, my dd is dissatisfied with her SA1 result & has requested for English tuition. I'm being 'fired' as her tutor

A good friend advised me to do some comprehension cloze myself...1) to get a feel what it is like as a 'student' 2) allow the child to know how we think as adult. After getting it done, my son marked it and asked me why I filled in those words. Fortunately, I didn't do too badly. We asked each other why those words were used and well, it was good bonding time.

Son asked for EL tuition...after getting a borderline pass, he got worried. So signed him up for class at this centre after a trial lesson. However, I am still his backup tutor...which is less stressful. -

I think my grammar is worse than my child too. At times, when I tried to explain to him why the answer key is the correct one, unconvinced, he would ask if what I said is a fact or only my own opinion or only based on answer key.
I just bought My Pals are here Grammar Guide. Hope it will be useful. -
My son is doing this title now "Success in Comprehension" (MC). What I like is the vocab section, which requires him to check up the meaning. Hope it will help in the Vocab cloze (synonyms).
