      you're welcome yerdua.

i'll be at the launch for sure, need to ask several Qs. cos in quite a dilemma now. whether to let ds2 go there or not. he doesn't want to, wants to follow elder bro.
where's your kid now? you mentioned may transfer cos it's near right? but does your child want to? tat's the tough part for me, trying to convince ds2. ds1 won't be transferring cos he loves his school too much and he's doing well, so it would not be meaningful to transfer, but i was thinking the distance of the new sch is so much nearer, very torn.
plus who can resist something new? šŸ™‚
      Hi kabalevsky,
My ds is in Juying now. We have been keeping our options open since p1 and hve been discussing abt it as a family since then.

He has to stay back twice a week since term two and on these days, I have to fetch him with my dd2  There will probably be more stay back days next year. So, I can really save on transport and time if he's in frontier.

Furthermore, I'm afraid that by the time dd2 is to enroll p1 in 2015, frontier Pri will become another hot sch in jw!!! So, the bro can help sis to secure a place there..... (really kiasu..... )

I just got Frontier Pri School brochure from my DD's kindergarten yesterday. Have read through and realise that the appointed Principal - Mr. Martin Koh is an Ex-VP of River Valley High School and the registration will be held at West Grove Primary on 18 July 2011 under Phase 2B. šŸ˜‰

Dh took a look and we were discussing. Compared to last year, the schools seem to offer less vacancies across the board? And then, the 3 schools that don't offer Tamil have 1 class less than the rest (240 instead of 270).

Dh asked, does that solve our problem in JW then? There are 11 Pr schs in JW, 10 if not counting the new Frontier. Taking out 1-2 classes from each of the 10 original schools, and adding only 8 new classes in intake in Frontier for 2012.... Doesn't that sound like a shortfall overall for 2012?

Unless the babies born in the Rooster year are really much much less, and many less in JW, I think it seems like a big crunch for us again this year?? And we thought the new school would ease the crunch?

                  Is our thinking logical??

If you do the math, there's actually an increase of 30 students in JW.

Agrees with Big Devil there is an increase of 1 class (30 students) from Y2010 to Y2011 and that addition goes to Juying Primary School. The other reduces by either 1 class or 2 classes (as in Corporation Primary School) and that deduction contributes to the new school - Frontier Primary School. Only Jurong West Primary and Pioneer Primary the number of P1 classes remain the same as in Y2010 & Y2011.

Hope my analysis is correct šŸ˜‰

thanks Big Devil and Champs. the table helps. šŸ™‚ I didn't check last yrs' stats and just assumed most of the schools offered 300 spaces last yr. :slapshead:

didn't know JYP offered only 210 last yr. ok then, at least there are more spaces next yr, even if 30, still helps!

though for the popular schools, like Rulang, maybe the parents will be more anxious since they now have less vacancies to offer. nail-biting this yr...
