Dh asked, does that solve our problem in JW then? There are 11 Pr schs in JW, 10 if not counting the new Frontier. Taking out 1-2 classes from each of the 10 original schools, and adding only 8 new classes in intake in Frontier for 2012.... Doesn't that sound like a shortfall overall for 2012?
If you do the math, there's actually an increase of 30 students in JW.

Agrees with Big Devil there is an increase of 1 class (30 students) from Y2010 to Y2011 and that addition goes to Juying Primary School. The other reduces by either 1 class or 2 classes (as in Corporation Primary School) and that deduction contributes to the new school - Frontier Primary School. Only Jurong West Primary and Pioneer Primary the number of P1 classes remain the same as in Y2010 & Y2011.

Hope my analysis is correct πŸ˜‰

thanks Big Devil and Champs. the table helps. πŸ™‚ I didn't check last yrs' stats and just assumed most of the schools offered 300 spaces last yr. :slapshead:

didn't know JYP offered only 210 last yr. ok then, at least there are more spaces next yr, even if 30, still helps!

though for the popular schools, like Rulang, maybe the parents will be more anxious since they now have less vacancies to offer. nail-biting this yr...

Anybody knows can we start to register to be PV now? If yes, what number to contact?

May i know your child is born in which year? Normally for 2006 is closed and now open for 2007.

Which is/are the school(s) you aiming to do PV? Might have to call up the school(s) to check πŸ˜„

                  Oh I didn’t state clearly.

I’m aiming for Frontier Pri. Currently I dun see any numbers to call up cause it’s a new sch.

Actually, I think it will be another tough and nerve-wrecking year, although, BigD has shown that the overall number of place increase by 30 places.

The blocks in this area are pretty dense and it does seem that there are alot of school-going kids around...

The fact that the 4-5 main sought after schools have reduced their intake is going to be a challenge...

Good luck to all parents!! :xedfingers:
