-
Just saw from MOE website, there are some schools which have reduced intake for this year registration:
Henry Park- from 330 to 300
Pei Hwa- from 330 to 300
RGPS- from 300 to 270

I guess the reason behind the reduced intake is due to lack of space and also reduced number of children. After 2000/2001, there are considerable lesser kids. Last year also saw unexpected ballot for some schools.Just saw from MOE website, there are some schools which have reduced intake for this year registration:

I think is due to the lack of space, as for lack of children, I dont think so... the birth rate is about the same as last year. I m sure there will be alot of balloting.

Yup, there will be many more disappointed parents this year. Popular schools like RGPS, Henry Park and Pei Hwa reduce another class.
For all girls school like RGPS, 270 is considered quite a lot. MGS only has 7 classes. -
I agree with you.. sigh.. think will be more competitive & more disappointing parents to surface........

There are 6 new schools being built...could MOE's intention be to reduce classes at popular schools so as to 'force' parents to register their kids at brand new schools ? There is a limit schools can expand.I agree with you.. sigh.. think will be more competitive & more disappointing parents to surface........

Very likely.
It is already happening this year at Jurong West, with popular schools like West Grove, Rulang, etc
all reducing intake so as to divert students to the new Frontier Primary. -
How sad. Already worried cannot get in, now with the reduced intake... :slapshead:

Which phase will your girl be in for the other schools?
Register with Henry Park first, and monitor the situation in other schools.
