huh? sensitive to ask right? I'll close one eye as long as the job is done.

Yes... i am not one to probe about this. But then again, I barely talk to this current maid cos of the issues we had. Didnt wanna correct her too much on the schedules so that I dont get a black face... and also cos' i think no pt since i want a replacement??? Problem is, dunno how long that will take!!!! :frustrated:

If cannot stand her anymore, why dun you send her back to agency first if there is someone (family members) who can help you for a short period of time? Else you will be more frustrated and stressed out seeing her daily.
I have no help... my mom is able to come by some days to watch over her.. but tats abt it.. she is not v v strong, so i rather not trouble her.. i had wanted to ask my agency to take her back.. but the boss is out of town... in USA for hols for over 3wks already!! so, no one can pickup.. and my hub is also wkg late and wkg on wkends recently... so, his idea is that if im alone on wkends with my kid, i cannot handle and clean hse at the same time... plus, i'll need someone to watch over my boy if i need to do biz or shower... tats why.. i leave the maid to do whatever based on schedule... since the basic stuff like sweep, mop, wash, laundry, iron etc are non issues... my idea is, less talk, less conflict... so.. i just hold my peace... do most of the other things myself.. until i get a new replacement...

OIC. guess then no choice just let her do the basic stuff and avoid talking much and wait for the replacement to come.

I give my maid off for 9 hours. The 1 hour extra is for travelling time on bus.

Which means I gave my maid 12hrs is more than enough…But well, sometimes they just take things for granted.

                  Hihi,

I am a FTWM with 2 kids. My mum is staying with me to supervise my maid. This FIL maid is my 3rd and had been wth me for the past 9 months.
She normally eats what we eat. We bring her to restuarants too.

Can I check, do you all allow your maid to choose what they want to eat in restuarant? Cos I realised that my maid nit very zi dong and tend to choose the mid range stuff or something that is not easy to eat, thus taking a long time to eat while hb, my mum and I gobbled down our food to help with the kids.

There had been occasions that we ordered for her (w/o asking her) and ended up she refused to finish her food bcos what we ordered is not to her liking.
During times like that, I really peh chek. Heartache at the $$ wasted.

                      hi zuen,

I brought my first maid out to eat many times but she's the zidong type. I didn't at all for my 2nd becos she's like your maid. FYI, my maids don't take care of kids at home or outside so I don't have to bring them along.

In your case, your's is already used to ordering her own food. You can only continue with that, or don't bring her out at all. You've given her freedom and if you revoke it, it's likely she'll just be upset with you. If you feel strongly about it, why don't you chat with her and ask her to order something that is easier to eat since someone has to take care of the kids? Just frame it nicely and see what she says.

If you feel bad about leaving her at home, remember that some actually enjoy it becos then they are queen of the house.

recently I renewed my maid's WP for 7 months (due to her passport expiring Jan 2012) but paid for full renewal price. As for insurance, I am not sure if can be pro-rated. Maybe you can call up Home maid to check.
