Trust me, you will see all the parents register on the last day and balloting will be conducted for those more than 2km. This happens every year for RGPS. Reason being there are mostly landed houses within 2km and beyond 2km simply means open to everyone in Singapore.

Vacancies = 37
Within 1 km = 40
1-2 km = 6
Out of 2 km = 5

So looks like there will be balloting within 1km this year...

So that means the parents of 1-2 km = 6 and Out of 2 km = 5 will most likely withdraw from MGS and go for RGPS.

Likewise for those parents who register their daughter at NYPS if the same thing happens there.

Less than 1km : 42
Bet 1 km to 2km : 4 (think 2 withdraw)
Greater than 2km : 3 (think also 2 withdraw)

Yes mwchua, it happens every year. All with no chance of balloting in other schools will flock to RGPS on the last day and ballot > 2km.

Think the reason RGPS not as popular compared to nearby girls schools like MGS or SCGS is that it is NOT affliated to the secondary school.
