Haha, but this forum usually not as active in 'normal' times. We got a lot of newbies last few weeks due to the P1 registration exercise. I wonder how many will stay on after it all ends? :?

        Tri-mum:
...I have a question, if the school exceed less than 3 applicants from the available vacancies, do you think they will still proceed with balloting or close one eye and accept all of them :?

Even if demand exceeds supply by HALF a kid, there will be balloting. It is that strict. Regarding the issue of twins, it only applies if the twins' number is the last one to be picked during the ballot, in which case there is no choice for the school but to accept that additional twin in its cohort by enlarging its enrolment, since it cannot possibly bump off anyone who balloted successfully earlier. However, if the twin's number is selected any other time during the ballot, their additional numbers will consume the places of the current ballot. So their single ticket could mean 2 more more places being used. Imagine if triplets or quadrupets are involved! :!:

But if after including the twins or triplets, we get a cut-off situation, then the school will also have to accomodate the extra students rite?

Btw chief, how to get HALF a kid? šŸ˜‰

aiyo, why so square wan.....just add a few more tables only what. then if the only one kenna vote out will cry non stop 😢 😢

Think that was the case for Southview in phase 2B. 53 within 1km balloted for 52 places. But the person can try under 2C again.

Ya, if me for sure... 😢 😢 😢

suay ah!! I think for Phase 2B the disappointment is more especially with all the PV duties served already, I feel particularly bad for those cases where there were no history of any balloting in that phase before...

..consolation is still got one more Phase to try.. but if Phase 2C is one of those sure ballot.. :faint:

Yah and if u so 'sway' to ganna ballot out for that one seat in 2B, it be even tougher to ballot with so many others in 2C.

That happened to my fren b4 (balloted out in 2B and 2C twice). But luckily she managed to get a place after appealing.

This is indeed the most active thread. I stay in the east, son is already in p6, yet i share the anxieties of parents here. Also, because my brother is registering in 2c dls and my sis in yt 2c too. So shock that both are headed for ballot within 1 km. Now my bro is undecided, should he go for ballot in dls or in yt. The pitiful thing is, both my nephews have all along assumed they would be going to the same school. 😢

Both my bro/sis have been too idling when I reminded them few years back to do pv and signup alumni (sis and I are ex-Bukit Panjang), they were convinced with the low birthrate, it should not be a problem. So, they didn't listen to jiejie (aka me) who's been there, done that. Haiz.

Will keep my fingers crossed for them. :xedfingers: Good luck and šŸ™ for all ksps hoping for a place in yt, dls and tao nan too.

That's a good question. It has an easy answer for Phase 2B, since those twins will simply consume places in Phase 2C. But for Phase 2C, there are no more places for them to consume in a potential cut-off situation. I'm not sure how MOE would judge this case - to either force the ballot or to increase enrollment. Need to throw this question to MOE.

don't understand why waste resources and time juz to cast one poor child out. Whether it be phrase 2B or 2C, both will be equally heartbroken 😢 😢
