[Sembawang] Primary Schools
-
Hi , back to same topic as canberra and Endeavour pri sch. Heard feedbak from some parent that Endeavour is too relaxing in terms of kids dont really have much homework to do . How true is it ?
Had borwse thru the past posted view , seems Endeavour is much more popular .
Have not decided to registered which school for my girl for next yr p1 .
So streesful . Any advice ? -
Hi it’s my first post here. Am very confused and somewhat stressed in choosing the right school for my child. It is my first time registering for my DS for P1 next year. Frankly im torn between Endeavour and Sembawang Primary.
Endeavour Primary is just next to my block whereas I have to take a bus to sent my DS to Sembawang Primary (it’s located betw. 1-2km from my house), but I dun mind the distance. The thing is I am have to find a BASC centre for my DS.
SPS has its own ‘in-house’ BASC but for EPS, I have to source for outside BASC. So which one is better??
So confusing!! -

Actually, what you could do is perhaps register your kid in EPS first since the school is nearest to your house. If your child gets balloted out in EPS (touch wood), you can still register him in SPS in P2CS, right? Based on past year's statistics, SPS had vacancies in P2CS.
My two cents. -

Thanks for replying...
Yup the nearest BASC i guess is Mainspring Learning Centre (for EPS). But the fees are quite ex and not including the transportation fees. If i were to let my DS to walk there by himself (w/o transport), I don't think I am comfortable with it, for safety reasons.
For SPS, it's an 'in-house' BASC, which I guess has its own advantages. No need to think of transportation and fees are quite ok (from what I read in the forum). And my younger DS is in a childcare ctr just next to SPS. I could sent them both at the same time in the morning (via public transport).
Do you know if BASC allows usage of CDA account for payment of the monthly fees?
But to think of distance, of course EPS is the best choice (but according to last year's statistics, those living within 1KM (for EPS) also have to undergo balloting...
)
Haiyah!! so stress! :frustrated: -

Hmmm... dats what I thought at first but u know lah as parents, tend to be kiasu when it comes to education... hehe
Not only i was thinking abt the journey/distance to and fro from the school to my house but also if the school has a good track record. I know that I can't have best of both worlds (if can, shiok ar
) but am trying to...
So between SPS and EPS...

Huh?? only 210 places?...
Well, I think to really 'seal' my choice, I will have to go to their Open Houses to get to know abt the school better. I have enquired:
SPS - Family Day Carnival cum Open House on 23rd July 2011 @ 9am to 3pm
EPS - Virtual Open House (Online) - Site will be up early July @ their school's website (http://www.edp.edu.sg)
Hope the info above will help those who are in dilemma like me...
