Just wanna do a check if anyone would be registering their kid at guangyang pri for 2012?

A new school building would definately be a plus for guangyang pri due to the improved learning environment and facilities. Sometimes the environment does count for the kids as this will live in their memory forever. Have the impression they are on the rise. Of course for top academy concern they can't match CH in the community. Sometimes you just have to weight your priority.

I am considering between AT (<1km) and KCPPS (>2km) for phase 2B. Last yr for AT, <1km also needed to ballot compared to all those in 2B for KCPPS got in. AT is really ideal for us as it is walking distance. Shall I try for AT if applicants exceed places or go for the sure win KCPPS?

You should wait till Phase 2B to make the decision. See the number of applicants at AT exceed by how many places and whether you should take the gamble. Staying within walking distance of a school is really great advantage.

Thanks Zeemimi. I was quite confident of getting in as from 2006 to 2009, all <1km 2B got in but then last year had to ballot. Now v scared. Wondering if we should still take the risk even if know have to ballot cos a Spore citizens, we have 2 chances.

hihi, does anyone here have the link to KCPPSโ€™ previous yearsโ€™ results, especially the top scorer and the mean aggregate for PSLE scores?

I don't have any link but based on my memory,
                  2010 ~265
                  2009 near 270
                  2008 above 280

Hw come results seem to be dropping? Is that the trend?hmm...duno if itz still a gd choice[/quote]I think choice of school should not be based on the PSLE top score. One has to look from many angles.
Without the GEP system, I'm sure every school is capable of producing top students. Every year, a number of these top pupils get transferred out at P4 to GEP. Would you then fault the school for not being able to produce top students?
Also, we have to look at the \"demographics\" of the students from the schools. Where do these students come from? What is their background? Do majority of the students go for enrichment at \"top\" tuition centres?
Each year's PSLE is different, with the top scorer of the entire cohort differing by sizeable margins in their T-score.
Base your choice on factors such as distance, culture of the school, etc.
By the way, I'm in no way promoting KCPPS. I've seen the school gone through much changes for the last 8 years. There are things which i'm not happy with but I'm still registering my DD3 there for P1. Simply because it is convenient for us. Saves a lot of time. I believe very much still boils down to the kind of support that the family renders to the child. Also the ability and drive of the child is a factor for consideration too. And most important, despite some issues which i'm not happy with, my kids are (were) happy there. ๐Ÿ˜„

It seems that many students who are in KCPPS enjoy their time there. That is an important consideration to me. I want my kids to enjoy learning.

Anyone know whether all in 2B usually get into KCPPS regardless of distance? We are >2km
