i’m a newbie to tis forum.
my gal is 3yos this year and i wud wish she cud get into SCGS. I read and found out tat no PV is required. we stay in the west and believe we have no chance unless we move. pls advice other possible alternatives, thks very much. -
Indeed, it will be quite difficult to get into the school unless you are an old girl or stay near the school, judging from past years P1 registration trend. And the school does not offer any PV scheme.
When my daughter was 4, I called up the school to offer my services. I was advised to fill up a form, stating the kind of services that I could provide. I later talked to the school registrar and found out that unless I can offer a very specific kind of service that the school cannot get from parents of existing girls, it is very unlikely that they will enlist my help. I was advised to shift near the school. An alternative I guess is to be a grassroot leader.
Eventually, I did not register my daughter during phase 2C as there was literally no chance for girls staying outside 2km that year. However, I put her on waiting list. She was called up to sit for entrance tests sometime middle of her P1 and was selected for an interview. Subsequently, she was offered a place to enter P2. And we took it. So, this could be an alternative for you to consider if you are OK with school transfer. -

What you like/dislike about SCGS?
Is SCGS adopting Stellar program for teaching and heard that there is no textbook with this stellar program?
If that is the case, are there any references/books for revision?
