Hi mommies!

I was reading this thread from the beginning and was really convinced that Kids Art is a good art schhol till the last few posts. sob! sob! Could any mommies kindly recommend any good art schools in the west? I like the philosophy of kids art where they focus on techinique ratrher than those that expose kids to all types of mediums within a term.

BTW, mariadcruz & mummy of 2, have your kids been taught by Teacher Nita or Angela from Kids Art (Bt Timah Br)? How are they?

TIA
Sorry for the late reply. Seldom visit this thread nowadays. DS1 attended the branch at Tiong Bahru so I'm afraid I can't comment on the teachers you mentioned. As I withdrew DS1 due to change in teacher, you may still want to consider the Bt Timah branch. You can always request to observe their lesson to see if the teachers are good. Suggest you sit in for the time slot that you plan to register your child. Afterall their philosophy is good just that the people are not executing it well. My 2 cents.

why don't try the patented kids art programme - InnoArt(思维绘画), which is so popular in China and has educated thousands of students, you can google the word of 思维绘画 to find out more in the internet.

Innoworld has exclusively introduced this programme to Singapore 5 years ago, and enhanced it along the way to add in the sketch, cartoon, etc.

INNOART has a copyrighted “dot” system that encompasses 69 unique drawing techniques. Pencils and erasers, as well as tracing and simple strokes, are NOT allowed in class. INNOART classes are conducted using well-orchestrated stories’ and games so as to enable your child to incorporate visual, oral, aural and drawing skills with his/her ability to think critically. Your child will develop a larger capacity to observe and comprehend (IQ); to imagine and create (CQ); to integrate all elements of IQ and CQ with increased confidence and diligence (EQ). Your child will acquire better drawing skills, a good sense of space and color, and the ability to express his or herself eloquently.

Can visit the website at http://www.innoworld.com.sg to find out more detail.

Hi, our centre is at #11-01, Parkway Centre, 1 Marine Parade Central, or call me at 97100158 or 63482688. sorry, our website may not be compatible with IE6.

Last Sat during our roadshow@parkway, after we explained the differences of InnoArt with other training system, a parent was so regret of just sign another course, and she even let her kid to attend our InnoArt course at same time, so Kiasu ah.. 🙂

Let me elaborate some more of the differences of InnoArt here:
• . Dissociate from the rigidity of tracing, or simply color a ready-made picture
. Students should draw a full picture on a blank A3 paper in each class, and they must create it by their own understanding, each student’s product is totally different from others
. Systematic and structural Curriculum, from beginner to advanced level, one level normally will take one year to complete.
. Monitor each student's progress, and re-group them regularly based on their learning progress, and even move to next level.
. After building the foundation, will introduce the sketch, cartoon, Chinese painting etc to them, to further develop their artistic talent.
. Drawing story and game woven into every InnoArt drawing lesson
. No pencil and eraser, no alteration needed
. Uniqueness of points-structured teaching method
. Creation of 69 types of drawing technique
. Simple stroke drawing concurrent use of eyes, ears, mouth, hands and brain
. Provision of an opportunity to increase personal development and creative expression
. Sparks right brain innovative connections and helps to stimulate children’s memory understanding
. Use of unique InnoArt drawing board as teaching method
•
sorry, we currently don't have any centre in the west, while we have some partners at Bukit Batok and CCK, which they normal use our programme to attract students join their own programmes.

If we can get about 30 students in the west, may consider to open a new branch in the west.

anyway, we have students coming from Jurong East, so, distance is not always a big issue. 😄
