      Hi parents,

My youngest refuses to take cod liver old and compared to my older one, he is always getting sick. Anyone knows how to get your child to take cod liver oil if they hate the smell?
      How old is your youngest?

My DD also refused it at first. So my MIL cleverly mixed it with rice. Now she is quite used to the taste. So it's easier now.

Perhaps you want to try the GNC's one? I bought that one after I finished the Scott's cuz GNC's one always requires only a small dose, so it's easier to make my DD swallow whilst the Scotts one is a tablespoon.

I also make it a point to spoon feed my DD with water whenever I can, although she doesn't to be fed water like that. I just want to ensure that she takes plenty of water as she is easily heaty like me. Also it gives me a chance to bond with her when I spoonfeed her. So when I need to feed her with cod liver oil, supplements or any medication (when she's sick), I will do it when I feed her water.

        Hi wywy2,

I give my kids Nordic Naturals fish oil. The have cod liver oil or fish oil from anchovies, sardines. This brand of fish oil is pharmaceutical grade, meaning the oil is high quality and free from contaminants. They have versions for kids that come in soft gels. The gels can be burst in the mouth and it's tasty to chew the gel as it has lemon/ strawberry taste to cover the fishy taste. My kids use to take the liquid form but I give them the soft gel now for convenience.

You can try the Animal Parade multivitamins too.

I read somewhere that there are so many types of supplement to take and if you are confused, just use multivitamins and fish oil. These 2 are most important.

The Nordic natural and Animal Parade can br bought from Vitakids at Forum Galleria.

        Here's the website for Nordic

Let’s not forget, healthy children mean great health = > good brainfood = > better results & perhaps even being fit for sports!

Anyone of you come across good supplement(s) for children between 6-12 years old? Usual Vitamin Cs/multivitamins are available in all pharmacies - but what about nutritional supplements etc? Thoughts?

Nowadays I switched to giving my DD chia seeds for omega. It contains more omega than fish oil. It doesn’t have DHA though. So am still giving DHA separately.

I giving my DD Childlife pure DHA and cod liver oil from GNC. Used to give vit c and multi vit also but later I decided to stick to DHA and cod liver oil only as the rest of the nutrition are quite enough from her formula milk and daily food.
