it would be interesting and scary if majority of these registered are actually within 1km .... :!:

Haha will these have effect on property prices around these schools :?

Actually, my impression is that many ppl are probably doing such things (buy a place within 1km of good school and rent it out). Then they use the address for P1 registration eg. they get a tenant with no kids so not likely to register.

I believe alot of people got away with that too unless there is a whistle blower. Personally, i feel that MOE has not come across hard enough on these people (who deprive other genuine case a chance in the school) so people are not really \"worried' that it will happen to them and would take the risk.
Parents can do what they want ... but dun get caught like this lawyer ... he really unlucky ... unless they enforced the renting to no-kids-allow ruling

I saw this before but it happened in 2007. Personally, it's like dun tell me no one did such things in in the past 2 years??? Or they just never get caught because they are so careful.

I've heard of kid's classmate who got into ACS this yr by renting a place nearby. After he got in, they probably move back to their own house as the mum was complaining to me about the distance

i know many such parents who rent a place near choice school and then move out…specially henry park. So , they are not allowed to register if they are tenants nearby OR they can apply under some conditions?

Using a rental address is allowed, provided u stay there.

Who has the right to register their kid ? The Tenant or Owner of the property ?

Should be the people living there.
